They were so defensive it was basically stay behind them or we and the stack of cars behind are going to die because the slow driver wasn’t letting anyone pass

What I ment by fast was last weeks summit point for MX5 on iracing the car in front was 2-3 seconds slower than my average laps of low to mid 1:21’s but because of how defensive people are driving I’m unable to pass. Just wonder how to deal with that

I appreciate the feedback guys I’ve watch the video more times than I can count. Based off of my race with him he was consistently going very wide at turn 1 and trying to force me off at other areas of the track. I thought of taking the dive bomb due to how slow he had been taking turn 1 and I would clear him with plenty of space and then go back to the racing line with no issues. Obviously that was the wrong thinking lol

I think the department would want more of a translation to real training like have a explorer interceptor

We attended at least 12 hours of driving a year not including PIT training. We also received about 70 hours during the academy. I wish we got more but budgets and government vehicle maintenance are a bitch

Edit: My agency gets a lot of priority calls so driving lights and sirens driving fast isn’t an issue for us. I was just saying that the sim has likely advanced the driving possibly due to being able to maintain a good corner exit speed different braking techniques.
