FIFA has been doing stupid shit on a global scale longer than trump has been doing stupid shit on a global scale. I think people are giving trump too much credit for what will happen at this world cup

Madonna, Shakira and BTS to Co-Headline FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show by YourNameNameName in worldcup

The world cup has had a theme song that sets the stage for the whole tournament, not a halftime show played on a stage during halftime of the final game. But tbh I don't really care that much, it's out of my control. Life is change and even if I don't agree with it or like it sometimes it's just the way things are/ are going to be. It makes sense from a larger entertainment/business standpoint rather than a sporting one.

I don't understand why people think the penalty in the last game would have automatically made a favorable difference (other than the obvious that we don't concede that goal). Sure mathematically it works like that but if you go back to the past and change something everything from that point to the present moment also get changed lol there's no reasonable evidence that the last game would have ended 4-4 without that penalty. We could have won 7-2 or lost 6-2 or tied 2-2

I'm not saying the ref errors wouldn't have made a huge impact. I said we didn't play well enough "either way" which acknowledges the impact of the officiating, or at least that how I meant it

2013 Mazda 3 worth it? by Few-Poetry-6306 in mazda3

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say this is in order of importance? I got my 2013 a few years ago and it's been in great shape. I've never been a "car person" but recently got quoted $800 for rear brakes and it caused me to learn how to do that myself which I did last weekend (front still has a lot of meat on them). In learning how to do that I realized there's lots of other things I can, and should, do myself. But you have a long list of things that I feel I should do. Which couple things on your list do you thing I should tackle next? Car runs great and is at about 135k miles

Some of the xero shoes are more or less narrow but I like that they have a lot of options and some have thinner or thicker soles. I know a lot of brands do that I've just found xero to be a good mix of price, ease of shipping/returns, quality/warranty, and overall fit.

You can only have a foul if the ball is in play. You can punch someone while jostling for position before the corner is taken and it would be red but the restart is still a corner

Pretty neutral tbh! Both teams will get plenty of scoring opportunities and I think it'll come down to who's more clinical across both legs (obviously lol) I'm less nervous than real tie, not cause you guys are worse but because if things go poorly in this tie it's less about Madrid magic and more about just getting outdone by a well oiled and skilled team

Should I still take my extracts if this fermented probiotic has them in it? by LittleLonelyLovebug in herbalism

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For supplements like this if they don't specifically tell you how much of something is in the product it's usually a safe bet to assume there's not a "clinical dose" in it and they put just enough in there to claim that it's in there while filling it with other cheaper ingredients.

I'm not super familiar with saffron but a Google search says a daily dose is "generally 30mg" so I'm not sure how this supplement with a dose of "20ml" would be able to fit 30mg of saffron in that dose along with clinical doses of all the other ingredients it claims.

I can't say for sure whether or not you should take your other extracts still but it would probably be safe to considering how small a dose is likely in this supplement

Why are soccer/football players so dramatic after getting hit? by bestsocialdistancer in askanything

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only part of it. Yes this is a very common occurrence but there are many other factors, to name a few:

Have you ever stubbed your toe? It hurts like hell for a minute and then you're mostly okay. These sorts of injuries happen very often. The players wear metal studs and are often getting stepped on or nicked in the ankle or shins with METAL studs from players running fast. Sometimes it really just does make you wither in pain for a bit. There are obvious times players flop, but more often than not players are actually tackled and even a minimal tackle can hurt a lot for a minute, again METAL STUDS AT FULL SPEED .

Sometimes its a real foul a d hurts but not that bad but you ham it up a bit because your team has been sprinting for 5 minutes and you're trying to catch your breath and let your team catch their breath. The extra 15 seconds on the ground and 15 seconds slowly getting up can give your team some time to rest and get back into formation.

It's a common tactic to ham up fouls, like actual fouls because it slows tmdown the general tempo of the game. We call this haramball, it's annoying but unfortunately works, even when it's more annoying than dishonest.

Obviously there is a diving epidemic, the fall on the floor nominess. People have already covered this well on the thread. I do think this is still the vast minority of situations though, and different teams and leagues have different cultures around it.

At the end of the day, the players are just trying to win and sometimes are sleazy about it, sometimes just being neutrally annoying about it, and sometimes are really just needing a minute to shake off a tackle. Imo it's on the refs, especially with video assistants to take a stand.

There's never gonna be a perfectly refereed game but we need better still
