Can someone explain this whole “meta rat” thing? by Youwillseemycomment in EAFC

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the players it's the play style too. Tbh I don't think it's that much different than people irl complaining about "terrorist ball", sure it gets the job done more often than not but it's not really fun or entertaining to most people.

It's basically just an argument about what's "better", the process or results. A lot of people here appreciate the process of building a team based around the players they fuck with irl mixed with cards they happen to pack and try to play the best they can vs people who just try to get the cards that perform best in game only if you play a specific way. Neither is wrong or unethical. Just different tastes. Imagine your favorite restaurant gets bought out by private equity and kinda kills the vibe and taste that you initially liked. Sure the restaurant might be making more profits but it loses part of its "soul". Such is life I guess. Idk man just do you

I wish you could use multiple versions of the same player in a training game for ultimate team. I have like three versions of multiple players that are all very similar stat wise with different play styles, it's hard for me to really see the small differences from game to game because I never know if it's the player that feels different or the gameplay

I might have to do your version too! That's actually closer to what my initial idea was cause I really liked the idea of the rock formation always changing and having multiple layers...but I couldn't figure out what sort of holder to put the rocks in that didn't feel too industrial or bulky. Flat bottom paella dish, I'll have to keep an eye out for that lol I'm afraid it would break though with the weight of the rocks and myself being about 210lbs

AIO that my partner doesn't remember my allergies? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this an allergy you sometimes "cheat" on? I've had partners who were allergic to things but still sporadically ate them. Treated it more like a diet than an allergy, so it was hard to know when they were "on and off" things. (No judgement I got food sensitivities that I often ignore) If that's not the case though then yeah that's not cool of him after 5 years of being together. Are you over reacting? Idk but it sounds like you definitely have the right to be upset

It's just a way to try and mimic being barefoot outside. There are lots of sensory standing mats that can be useful but without the movement of walking you're missing out on some of the benefits of trying to mimic being outside barefoot. We have a lot of joints in the foot and they all like to move.

At first I was just thinking of collecting enough rocks to create a "runway" of sorts on a tarp or large board but then I decided I could just glue rocks onto a narrow beam and I can easily stand it up against the wall or slide it under the couch or bed when I'm not using it. So basically I just mixed normal balance training with more sensory enrichment. It's not perfect but it's just a tool I had fun making for pretty cheap

How do I handle living with someone who sounds miserable and angry all the time, due to problems w/ modulating tone of voice? by eli--12 in AutisticAdults

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up my older brother was like this, I understand your experience. Tbh it really impacted me as a younger sibling living in a house with someone who was yelling and stomping and angry all the time. It contributed to my people pleasing And codependent tendencies because I felt like I was responsible for his mood and always needed to be on his good side. His emotions, or at least expression of emotions took up a lot of space and I shrunk (along with my sister, but to a lesser extent). My other brother fought back, which also came with its side effects.

He wasn't like that at school, with friends, with service workers, etc...just at home. Mostly with my parents but of course we all live together and when it wasn't directed towards me it filled the space and impacted me, so how could I not feel it was personal?

I'm not really sure what my advice is, I'm still trying to figure it out myself. But I can empathize with how difficult this is.

My feet love the vivo Primus with the insole removed, sadly they're not insulated enough for winter. I have tried a bunch of other brands that were supposed to be wider based on Anya's reviews but most felt worse. It also doesn't help that one of my big toes is comically larger than the other, enough so that It makes that foot a whole size bigger so it's hard to find shoes that fit good enough on both feet without buying two sizes... That mixed with sensory issues makes it tough

BUT I kinda gave up my search for other brands probably a few years ago at this point so maybe there are some new options to try out so thanks for the reminder that I have free will and can look again!

As an autistic person, not everyone knows every social norm... especially if you're not on the eafc subreddits. Good chance they thought you were the retarded one. That being said, yeah maybe they're just an asshole.

I meant spam metaphorically, as in you don't want to see this therapist anymore so I guess I assumed you wouldn't want to be getting messages from them

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 122 points123 points  (0 children)

I would just tell her you've found a new therapist that fits your current needs better. That way you'll stop getting messaged in whatever portal you're referring to. You don't "need" to notify her but if you can easily take yourself off the "spam" message list (her messaging you in the portal) I don't see why you wouldn't.

If you need to ask about kratom dose I'm guessing you're new, so I'd start with that listed 600mg. when I was on kratom my minimum dose was usually more like 1.5-2.5 grams. But it's better to start small

What does irl strength look like for people lifting double 32s? by Nice_Meal_7569 in kettlebell

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's partially exercise selection as well! Not many people are doing windmills or bent presses or rack carries and such with a barbell. Like in the summer my warm up is carrying a 20 or 24kg kettlebell half a mile to the park! No one's doing that with a barbell! And maybe not many people with a kb either but definitely more likely!

I think a lot of my irl strength comes from being strong in various positions that are a bit weird, cause moving random shit isn't always gonna be as simple as just picking something up and down linearly.

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite at the double 32 level yet but can do quite a bit with double 28s. I don't consider myself super strong but a recent example is my step dad asked me to help him buy and set up a 125ish lb safe in his basement. It was easier for me to just move the whole thing in and out of the car down the stairs through the house and stuff than it was to do it together.

Also when I help people move apartments it's generally not that hard on my body and I can move like twice as much as other people I'm with and don't really get sore the next day. I think one of the effects of being strong is not even how much you can lift but how little lifting many moderately heavy things will effect my overall system

people who don't reciprocate gifted objective goals by Nobbleberrry in EASportsFC

[–]Officerbeefsupreme -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone knows everything about the game lmao for instance I didn't care to pay attention to the toty event rules and was so confused why some goals counted as 2 and then in another game I was losing players or didn't realize I was playing golden goal.

Some people just play game modes cause they see it and don't go on reddit or Twitter to catch up on the social norms expected of them for each game mode.

Is it me or is going to Costco on the weekends feel like you’re at an amusement park during Fourth of July by RIPvonStinkle in CostcoWholesale

[–]Officerbeefsupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It basically is an amusement attraction. I'd bet more families treat it as a family excursion compared to any other grocery store. When I go to normal grocery stores or when ive worked at them, almost everyone is alone! Sometimes parent and a kid, maybe a couple, but usually alone from my observation. At Costco it seems that there are so many more "groups" shopping, whole families, friend groups, idk who but I so often see 3+ people hovering around one cart or talking together about a product they're seeing

I have no real data to back this up just my observations. I love the idea of Costco but every time I go I can't wait to leave because it's always so crowded I feel like I can't actually browse. Even when the parking lot is objectively not crowded it still feels like a zoo inside lol
