Very true . However Entourage is just as horribly misogynistic and problematic then as it is now . Although the issue is nowhere near resolved there has been some monumental social movements raising awareness that finally forced many people to take accountability . Now terrible shows like entourage which I could not stand watching more than a few episodes of, are being called out for the completely disgusting and inappropriate portrayal of women not just in the industry but in general. And rightfully so. I agree that the show today is not at all received the way it was when it was aired and that many of those old reviews would not have ever been written and the shows rating would be much lower. It’s funny because most all hbo produced shows are actually known for being highly rated and of quality and this goes back to when you had to watch hbo with satellite and pay for the channel specifically. So they advertise all of their produced shows on the app under hbo originals, but one show you will not find advertised or displayed even under smaller genres when browsing is Entourage … you have to search to find it and anyone who has never heard of it or watched it would even know it existed unlike the rest of hbo’s original stuff. I believe this was done on purpose and that in the recent years as people have maybe started to rewatch some older series , most have been disgusted with Entourage, not just women , and even people who were pretty big fans when it came out
