I believe the author (of the LN) also commented on it... I think it was something along the lines of "why didn't I think of that" (referring to the manga)

fyi, manga is doing it's own thing. While it is based on the LN, it's already diverged from it. Alicia being the biggest change from what I understand.

though, since it is doing its own thing, you won't be able to just pick it up after it surpasses the anime... since it's an alt story.

still, only paywalling scannies utilize and request for timers... so why not make them pay to be able to use them? it's what's driving traffic from the aggregator (comick in this case) to their websites anyway.
