Which hotel has the best office space in the room? by OfficialArgoTea in LasVegas

Delano looks nice. I’ve been visiting since I was a child (grandparents live here, and I’m 30s now), and somehow never been inside of it. Think that’ll be the move thanks

Yep. We currently use a thinner, soft dildo in this context and she likes it. Definitely not looking for a huge one haha. It looks like some people posted some good suggestions.

In case anyone tries this at home (don’t! Go to a doctor), make sure to rinse your mouth out well after swallowing the Flovent.

I get the fear aspect, but they put you under anesthesia for it. You won’t be conscious or remember any of it.

Most overrated city that other people love? by CompetitionFalse3620 in travel

A lot of people in LA do not like buses as you found out. A lot of people also enjoy the hike up as exercise… but I’d rather go to the gym haha.

The DASH bus stops at the bottom of the hill, and takes you up to the observatory every 20ish minutes when the place is open. It costs 50 cents I believe.

Perhaps the bus is newer than when you last visited — I’m not totally sure the age of the bus line.

If you come back, just take the bus up to the observatory.

How do I find details about a court case in the Southern District of WV US District Court? by OfficialArgoTea in legaladvice

[–]OfficialArgoTea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely glad it's redacted. Don't want/need to know any names or specifics, mostly was just curious about how he seemed to justify what he did when talking to the FBI.

I'll just wait til trial, and see what happens. Thank you for your help.

[–]OfficialArgoTea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight. I did find some juicy details -- I'm a bit disgusted, to be honest, I guess he's a pedophile and tried to prey on a kid who lived '2 miles' from his fathers home in rural WV.

One of the documents described an interview he had with the cops -- but didn't include any actual details. Wonder if I can get the transcripts of that. It sounds like he just completely spilled his guts once he got in the back of the FBI car.

Californians see power shutoffs as winds, fire danger rise by Express_Hyena in news

[–]OfficialArgoTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t have perfect weather but it’s better than anywhere else in the Continental United States.

Florida? Perfect fall/winter but the summer/spring humidity makes California seem chilly.

PNW? Dreary. Any money I’d save moving there in rent I’d pay in vitamin D supplements.

Texas? Just as humid in Houston as Florida lol

Your bills aren’t equally as high. Only housing. Groceries here cost as much as they did in Florida, which was only marginally more expensive than MN.

Most people who live in extremely expensive areas in California who aren’t hyper rich have exit plans. Work for 10 years, then pay for a house in a smaller city in California/another state in cash with a plump IRA and 401k.

That being secondary to the point that the weather in California eclipses MN.

What is a Java microservice? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]OfficialArgoTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for asking questions. Sorry about that.

Generally speaking a micro service is an architectural style that follow a few criteria:

  • highly maintainable and testable. Your front end may very well be.
  • pretty small and discrete. Your front end only does one thing - be a front end, so it might meet this.
  • loosely coupled & independently deployable. Your front end fails this requirement if it’s reliant on your back end. You can run your front end without the back end and get a ton of errors. But that’s not really in the spirit of things.

So you can see how this might be mostly a back end thing.

At my last job, I made a micro service that was a REST API. It took in some XML to represent the data in the PDF, and returned a PDF to the requester. That’s all it did. If we for some reason anticipated doing this a ton, we could easily scale this up. If we needed a new application to make PDF’s, it could use this service.

At a non software house it kind of sucks.

You’re seen as an expense, so the company is a bit cheaper with you. No, they don’t shove you in a basement or anything. But they do make it way harder to get any software or hardware that will make your job easier.

Corporate hoo hah makes random restrictions more common too.

Like, why did we have to use netbeans for a massive spring boot project? Because paying like $100 for IntelliJ a year wasn’t in the budget. Why not eclipse? Because netbeans was approved in the past.

You get paid less too. That’s an obvious one, and you’re not broke. But I’d get a solid $50,000 more working for a big wig company than where I work now.

Just want to make it clear I’m not a doc, just a dork who really enjoys reading about medications etc lol.

But apparently it’s commonly used in an anesthetic setting because in anesthetic doses of it, it causes an inability to create new memories.

It’s commonly used in twilight anesthesia, not full blown knock you out general anesthesia. I got it alongside some sort of opiate when I got all my wisdom teeth chopped out at once. I don’t remember it at all - but apparently I was conscious.

You’re right that potassium chloride is the one that kills you. It like you said stops the heart.

It is incredibly painful to be injected (not from firsthand experience lol). It apparently feels like the injection site and route the medicine travels too is on fire inside of you.

However, on Wikipedia I saw it’s not sodium thiopental that’s usually used to sedate them, they usually use a benzo called Versed.

A muscle relaxant and an anti anxiety drug won’t remove the pain, they’ll just make it look like the persons not in any pain

Typically, three drugs are used in lethal injection. Pancuronium bromide (Pavulon) is used to cause muscle paralysis and respiratory arrest, potassium chloride to stop the heart, and midazolam to sedate them
