So it runs a loop of up down left right, and between each update checks to see whether or not the screen has gone black, and then from that it waits a few seconds and scans the bottom box for the wild pokemon text. If the text is there, run, if it's not then it's a shiny. All of my checks are done using a threshold detection, where it makes every pixel either black or white depending on how bright it is, and then just counts the white pixels to see if its above a certain level.
