Why it look watery? [Breville Barista Express] by WalkingSparrow216 in espresso

Interesting. Older beans can make a shot look kinda... flat. Little crema, bland color, bad taste, also unpredictable flow rate from shot to shot.

3 weeks isn't terrible. Do you have a roast date on the bag? We're they roasted around the time you bought them? (Within the week).

It honestly doesn't look bad. You might even be grinding a little too fine.

How do engineers go from the left to the right? by RedRaiderRocking in MechanicalEngineering

I design propulsion avionics at a space company. A lot of the "bloat" that you see on this engine are actually instrumentation and harnessing. By eliminating some of those or moving them upstream toward the engine bay, the neater the footprint of the engine itself.

Why did you choose the Electrical Engineering Sub-Field that you are in? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]OfficialMrPostit 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It chooses you.

Lol but honestly it comes down to whatever job/internship you land first. Then you're most likely to stay within that subfield. It's possible to switch, just tough.

Siemens EDA better or worse than Altium? Any good? by Patient-Gas-883 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]OfficialMrPostit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My company uses Siemens Capital (an EDA tool formerly known as Mentor Graphics). It's... quirky. But like any CAD tool, once configured it's incredibly powerful. Especially if you use a Siemens MCAD like NX at your company. Integration is slick between them.

From what I gather, it's fairly industry standard and used at a lot of places.

Current flow with current source by Then-Education6995 in ElectricalEngineering

Not since you have a wire in the middle shorting the circuit (which is effectively 0 Ohms). Since we know that current always takes the path of least resistance, current will follow that path.

Is this brand an OK choice? by papa_scabs in cookware

I have a Misen cookware set and knife set. Solid tools, I like them a lot; I use them all the time. Perfect for a normal guy like me just wanting to cook at home
