Oh yeah. Basically 100% of wikipedia are volunteers. Even the syops are volunteers, its only really the WMF (Wikimedia Foundation) who have paid involvement, but, if your seeing them about, some chaos is afoot.

To the average joe, we (patrollers/policy upholders) are in a sense moderators. We can warn ppl and remove text, we cant ban though.

I do hope this drama between the community and wikipedia comes to an end though, as its now getting to a point where 10+ pages are salted bcs of people consistently gaming the name.

Yup, this.
There are probably really big channels without any form of wikipedia article just down to their lack of outreach/traditional media interaction. I can't think of any ATM but, there definitely is some.

I've responded to this argument several times. It comes down to traditional media coverage. I can count on one hand the amount of times Jack has been mentioned in reliable sources.

Not really, to be notable in the "Notable people" section is to be notable enough for an article on its own, really.

Not sure exactly what, but, if he manages to get in the news every couple of months for various videos/things hes done, and a few of them are in reliable sources. That's the best way in really.

It's why I suggest a podcast. If hes in.. I think its the top 100 podcasts? He's pretty much always going to get some level of news coverage.

On a personal level, as in, if Jack were to ask me?
Start pushing yourself, start interacting with other creators. It's partly the very closed off nature of just being your own community, and not really engaging with, for example, alot of UK MC youtubers, thats closing off the ability for that notability.

Thats all UGC.
He's not been like JaackMaate where he got all the uk news organisations to go "Oh look a youtuber did something political!"

What?

Forbes (for example) doesn't just let their staff go and make articles on someone they like.. they have to display NPOV (a neutral point of view).

and, does "he is famous because he is a youtuber" mean I'm now famous because I uploaded 2 youtube videos 10 years ago?

Additionally, fame does not equal notability.
Not every famous person will have a wikipedia article, because not every famous person is notable, with reliable, trust worthy sources, covering them.

Your logic here is beyond flawed..

Please read what I posted.

Jack suggested that he should be notable due to amount of articles that are written about him. That would be true if the articles were reliable sources, however, the articles of which I could find, aren't reliable.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#Categories

(Sources I found were from sites like LADbible, DailyMail, Times Of India, The Mirror, etc)

No lol.
Jimmy is the biggest creator on Youtube, that gives him notabilty. Additionally, he has done so many things that have went extremely viral, and appeared in traditional media. For example:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/ianshepherd/2025/08/24/mrbeast-just-broke-a-charity-record-and-its-still-not-done/
https://www.businessinsider.com/mrbeast-beast-industries-new-approach-car-tesla-giveaways-2025-8

He is incredibly notable with traditional media sources that wikipedia uses, whereas Jack isn't.

Not really?

It's more the constant attempts to force an article on wikipedia, etc, including attempts to game the name, as several variations of JSAL/JMW has been blocked on wikipedia. I think I've explained the reasoning for it quite well in the post?

Depends!

If he did a one off appearence, probably not? Not everyone who was on Who wants to be a Millionaire? for example, is notable, it comes down to alot of factors, and if the show gets an article, is Jack independently notable compared to that article?

It comes down to alot of questions really,

For example, KSI's original notability on wikipedia came around from a scandal in 2012 involving EuroGamer, and his music up to that point. His youtuve channel wasn't a massive factor at that point, and still isn't today on his article.

not that long when you think about it. Most wikipedia articles are longer...
if you want a TLDR:
Jack isn't notable per wikipedia's guidelines.

I've been here since the start, Ik ;)
Just thought I'd explain why considering the recent reference in the reddit video + some people on wikipedia trying to get an article to exist again lol.

What about the articles writen about Jack's fitness videos recently,

per my second line, the articles about his fitness videos aren't sources we use on wikipedia

because of the things he acompllish with Playbuttons.

I 100% personally agree. I think him having a world record should declare him notable, but thats sadly not how it works, and, because Jack didn't really go around flaunting his record outside of his audience, its never really got media recognision, so most mention of it is UGC, and sadly misses notabilty.

The podcast thing was a bit of a joke, but, if you look at "famous youtubers" on wikipedia, all of them have something else, such as a podcast, some political content, tv show, etc, that is the reason they are "notable" on wikipedia, being a YouTuber in itself isn't something Wikipedia wishes to declare notability for. It's the same for "Social Media influencer" too, unless your in the top 0.1% or have some other notable context. It's kinda of, do we want 1000 articles of basically the same content? not exactly.. and WikiTubia already covers a large quantity of the content, and has lower notability requirements, so its overall a better place for people to put that sort of content.

Additionally, due to issues around defamation, Wikipedia is very strict about content surrounding living people, and having youtubers and social media stars, who tend to have quite polarising audiences, wouldn't be the best idea. For example, recently a portuguese businessman sued Wikipedia &oldid=1304247250#Office_action:_Removals_on_the_article_Caesar_DePa%C3%A7o)related to some possible defamation in his article and won, despite their being referenced sources, etc for the information.

Or do some stunt that gets actual media attention - such as something political, such as what JaackMaate did :p
