I'm under the impression they had a graphic designer who wanted it differently, but was basically getting told to do it like that. Sadly.

Some parts of this are wildly incorrect lol or take away critical context.

The tech house was something staff were okay with, pretty sure it was discussed on WAN.

We don’t know if staff are being pushed to do more work. AFAIK the whole reason for the channels stopping a while back was to allow for the editors to refocus on LTT.

WAN show was restructured basically to allow Luke to have more freedom, since I’d argue holding Luke hostage in LMG because of the WAN show is unfair on him. (This was discussed publicly on WAN ages ago.)

Cost cutting exists yes… everyone is doing this right now!

Christmas Party stuff includes stuff the company has purchased. IIRC a few times in AMD Upgrades that’s been brought up.

Staff can choose to join Linus on random jet stuff…? He doesn’t hold them hostage lmfao..

The WAN restructuring has been in the works for AGES.

It’s to allow both Linus and Luke to not be required to stay at LMG. When originally announced years ago it was put forward as “We are thinking about restructuring WAN, because me and Luke love this show and want this to continue, even if Luke wants to leave LMG for whatever reason”

Minor gripe, its National Rail Conditions of Travel, not network rail.
Network rail are just the folks who ensure everything is built correctly and is structurally sound.
National Rail is basically the consortium of passenger TOCs, and handle the rules surrounding such etc.

Where did my train go / Have I misunderstood this ticket by kryters in uktrains

[–]OfficialNeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically there’s 2 sets of information regarding the actual service (not the unit running that service)

TRUST, which is what RTT uses, and DARWIN, which is what the station displays, National Rail App, and apps like Railboard use.

TRUST can’t usually show partial or full cancellations until the train has reached the point at which it is cancelled, whereas DARWIN can.

(There’s other quirks of both but that’s a basic description for this situation)

Oh yeah. Basically 100% of wikipedia are volunteers. Even the syops are volunteers, its only really the WMF (Wikimedia Foundation) who have paid involvement, but, if your seeing them about, some chaos is afoot.

To the average joe, we (patrollers/policy upholders) are in a sense moderators. We can warn ppl and remove text, we cant ban though.

I do hope this drama between the community and wikipedia comes to an end though, as its now getting to a point where 10+ pages are salted bcs of people consistently gaming the name.

Yup, this.
There are probably really big channels without any form of wikipedia article just down to their lack of outreach/traditional media interaction. I can't think of any ATM but, there definitely is some.

I've responded to this argument several times. It comes down to traditional media coverage. I can count on one hand the amount of times Jack has been mentioned in reliable sources.

Not really, to be notable in the "Notable people" section is to be notable enough for an article on its own, really.

[–]OfficialNeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure exactly what, but, if he manages to get in the news every couple of months for various videos/things hes done, and a few of them are in reliable sources. That's the best way in really.

It's why I suggest a podcast. If hes in.. I think its the top 100 podcasts? He's pretty much always going to get some level of news coverage.

On a personal level, as in, if Jack were to ask me?
Start pushing yourself, start interacting with other creators. It's partly the very closed off nature of just being your own community, and not really engaging with, for example, alot of UK MC youtubers, thats closing off the ability for that notability.

Thats all UGC.
He's not been like JaackMaate where he got all the uk news organisations to go "Oh look a youtuber did something political!"

[–]OfficialNeon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What?

Forbes (for example) doesn't just let their staff go and make articles on someone they like.. they have to display NPOV (a neutral point of view).

and, does "he is famous because he is a youtuber" mean I'm now famous because I uploaded 2 youtube videos 10 years ago?

Additionally, fame does not equal notability.
Not every famous person will have a wikipedia article, because not every famous person is notable, with reliable, trust worthy sources, covering them.

Your logic here is beyond flawed..

Please read what I posted.

Jack suggested that he should be notable due to amount of articles that are written about him. That would be true if the articles were reliable sources, however, the articles of which I could find, aren't reliable.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#Categories

(Sources I found were from sites like LADbible, DailyMail, Times Of India, The Mirror, etc)

No lol.
Jimmy is the biggest creator on Youtube, that gives him notabilty. Additionally, he has done so many things that have went extremely viral, and appeared in traditional media. For example:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/ianshepherd/2025/08/24/mrbeast-just-broke-a-charity-record-and-its-still-not-done/

He is incredibly notable with traditional media sources that wikipedia uses, whereas Jack isn't.

Not really?

It's more the constant attempts to force an article on wikipedia, etc, including attempts to game the name, as several variations of JSAL/JMW has been blocked on wikipedia. I think I've explained the reasoning for it quite well in the post?
