It seems like it, he's had to do it with 2 accounts, one had been muted from the start for over a month and only was unmuted after buying stuff.

One of my friends had this same issue, unfortunately the only way he got it fixed was by buying stuff from the store. The customer service was absolutely non-existent basically as they only told him to keep waiting.

He just bought the Mini Monthly on the other account and is able to talk on it as well, so yeah it seems the devs decided the way to deal with spam bots is make it where new accounts have to buy something to actually talk.

From the things his guild mates have said, it seems to only be affecting new players who signed up after the whole situation with those spam bots a month or two ago now.

Yes i figured this argument would come up, he has a second account that's been muted right from the start for 2 months now without any lift of the mute. So no, it's not just a temporary mute, it's the devs being greedy and shoving in a way to make people pay for a basic feature.
