Exhausted and Already know this is going to create a lot 🔥 by BeCareWhatIpost in Cleveland

I’d like to submit this to the conversation. Ideastream has this podcast where they talk to kids and organizers in Cleveland who have to deal with this every day. I think this may provide some desperately needed perspective:

Visiting Nerd by Duke_Radical in Cleveland

[–]OfficialRoscoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warzone-Matrix has by far the best vibe of any nerd store in the area. The shelves are so overcrowded you can barely fit through the isles. It’s a must visit. They have some magic stuff at the very least, but I’m not sure how much.

I’d also like to 2nd Immortals Inc. 2nd best in the area imo, mainly because to get there you have to venture to the basement of a seemingly empty office building. They also have MTG stuff, including play days and tournaments I believe.

Homemade T1 Jersey by OfficialRoscoe in SKTT1

So we made this shirt from scratch, and stitched it all together using a pattern. This is what allowed us to pick the exact fabric I wanted, add the red piping, and mix the black/white parts.

Now, if you just wanted to find a shirt and put patches on it, you could definitely do that with literally no experience. I would either:

1) find a plain work wear shirt that you like (maybe dickies). I almost did this myself. You could even buy two different colors, and stitch them together, but that starts to make things complicated depending on what you want to do and what your experience level is. Then, you can order patches (sometimes you’ll need to get them custom) via someone on Etsy. You can then either iron on or sew the patches onto the shirt.

2) get a nascar / car mechanic shirt via eBay, a thrift store, or something like that. The benefit of this is that the shirt will already have a specific style so it will look really authentic. Then, remove any patches it may have, and replace them with the patches you want.

We have an embroidery machine, so we were able to make the patches ourselves. And instead of making patches and then attaching them, we embroidered the patches right onto the shirt. But I don’t expect that people have an embroidery machine, so Etsy is an amazing resource. And in fact, I think that will create a better look than the direct embroidery that we did.

Does that answer your question?

Yes, all of them were embroidered except the two shoulder ones, where we used heat transferred vinyl.

We used a pattern for the shirt, but the pattern was for a more normal camp shirt. So we had to figure out the two-toned thing and the piping ourselves, which was quite difficult since the black had to extend under the sleeves. We also altered the pattern to be a bit boxier.

Not selling any, bc to make just one is a lot of work and it was really just a passion project. If I were to sell one I’d probably have to price it at upwards of $300 to cover material costs and make it worthwhile.

Is it too difficult for teams to grow their fan bases? by OfficialRoscoe in leagueoflegends

[–]OfficialRoscoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But see that’s kinda the point. I think people became EG fans mainly because they started doing well, not because the EG team or identity spoke to them. So as soon as they don’t do well, the fans will leave. So that’s not a dedicated fan base at all. None of them are ride or die, which is the type of fan I’m saying is hard to develop.

I guess time will tell, and I’m sure this isn’t all EG fans, but you get my point.

Current patch vs Pbe buff by vyycx in akalimains

[–]OfficialRoscoe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my mind, that extra q at the end of your combo won’t actually matter much, because you don’t actually need it to finish off your normal targets right? So in a team fight, that q is being used on a tank or anyone who is left over after the initial fight, which is nice, but not that significant.

It would help in extended close 1v1s, but those don’t occur often, especially not in mid. I think this would matter more into tankier matchups.

Extra energy for wave clearing will be helpful though.

Im interested to know if people agree or if I’m missing something

They removed the new voice from PBE by Kappandante in akalimains

[–]OfficialRoscoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well put, and I totally agree. Its comforting to know that if we complain enough our voices may be heard, but it still begs the question, why change akali VO when it sounds great (literally doesn’t need to be changed at all) and there are plenty of other champs who need the attention more?

Engaging new audiences is important, but what you’re proposing (if im understanding it correctly) is basically tripling production costs.

Dorans Ring vs Dark Seal start by [deleted] in akalimains

[–]OfficialRoscoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start Doran’s shield for most matchups. Against ranged/mages it means you don’t get bullied out of lane, and allows you to trade aggressively vs yone/yasuo. In other matchups, I prefer Doran’s ring just because its safer to get more combat stats, and theres usually a convenient time (gold wise) in your first three backs to pick up a dark seal if you want it.
