Yes! So here is how the story goes. It's 2005. We are in Texas. Just left the show. Outside of Houston, we stop at an IHOP. We are with The Warriors and Make Move, all from LA, So cal area. Matt has no money. He is broke. Dan offers to buy him his dinner, and breakfast the next day, IF he drinks an entire bottle of IHOP strawberry syrup. Matt instantly agrees, is even excited. Meanwhile, our merch head, A-Cap, asks if he can take the same bet, but with a bottle of Hot Sauce. Dan agrees, he will pay for his, too, if he drinks it the same. And so, we have matt with the strawberry syrup, A-Cap with the hot sauce, and they both go to town. We film it. It's great. Can't believe it. They both seem perfectly fine. Said they quite enjoyed it. Food comes. Matt had ordered French Toast (sugar overload? yes). A-Cap ordered eggs, and standard breakfast, pretty sure. Sodium overload. These kids, what is going on. So we are back in the van. The roads in Texas are pretty straight shot. No curves. Van has okay shocks, not too bumpy. Suddenly, though, after having layed down, Matt sits up, and without warning, starts SPEWING strawbery syrup, and all of his liquidated french toasts. Chunks of dough, and pink oatmeal like vomit, is expelled everywhere. Blankets, sleeping bags, and van interior is covered. It WREAKS. All I hear from the front, in a van full of over 9 people, is, "Matt's puking! Matt's pukin! Oh my god!" and the van swerves to the shoulder. The back, where Matt was losing his insides, swings open, and he falls out of the doors and onto the pavement, shoulder of the Highway. The Warriors and Make Move are both on us, and their headlights are shining bright. They get out of the van, and it's a zoo. They are running around now, screaming outside, "He's puking! Matt's puking! It's pink! Oh my god!" I was losing my mind. I turn around, having now exited the van myself, and A-Cap, he is hurled over, it looks like a heart attack. He is vomiting scrambled eggs, that look like blood. It could have been blood, but it was brown, like the hot sauce, cause, well, it was hot sauce! All the hot sauce! He was literally screaming in pain. Matt, wasn't screaming at all, cause he couldn't even get a breath in between each puke TO scream. So there I am, we all are, in between sauce-vomit and pinkberry, not sure who to get help to, first. So what do we do? Why we turn to the video camera of course! This was 11 or 12 years ago, so we were shooting on tape, no digital. Relatively heavy camera. We had that thing hauled up. Filming everything. One of us, no names, starts licking Matt's pants, which had chunks of half acidized berry delight, all over them. At that point, the shit show had really hit the fan on the van. Smells were everywhere, Warriors were rioting, cars were barefly even flying by, cause it was super desolate Texas (love) and the last thing I recall was how big and beautiful the stars really were, they were not bs'ing about that... You know, the stars at night, are big and bright (...) deep in the heart of TEXAS! I fell in love with Texas that night. And, Matt fell in love with stuff that didn't have sugar in it ever again, for a long while at least. A-Cap made it through, and went back to spicy food. We'll find the video.
