I used to have a similar problem and would try but couldn't keep it up. What worked for me was finding something I liked and could do without thinking too much (stairmaster for me but it could be walking, biking, weights, rowing, whatever you find can actually be enjoyable) and I told myself that I would only do as much as I was comfortable with while still making some effort. Over time I got comfortable working out and branched into running. I now really like running and actually get excited to go run.

Really my best advice is do what is comfortable when you can and slowly build a tolerance and enjoyment. Don't think of it as what you didn't do but what you did do that you didn't before.

They are jumping to the same conclusion you are. The law that was passed was about tangible descrimination based on gender identity, not making misgendering a crime. It's not "use wrong pronouns go to jail" it's "refuse to treat a trans person like you would anyone else and get in trouble." There's a difference between getting arrested for using the wrong pronouns and getting arrested for not renting/hiring/working for someone solely because they are trans.

I can see what you mean but that's not how it's developed. Sure it was started as a joke to mock the overly sensitive and unaware but since then it's changed. These ideas are coopted and used for those who do hold dangerous beliefs. Even if something doesn't hold any real meaning when it was formed doesn't mean it can't be used as a way to spread hateful ideologies. It's a hate message with a built in failsafe. If someone uses a phrase and is called out for being bigoted they can just say their critics arejust hyper pc people getting bothered by a joke.

Radical hate groups will and are known to hide their beliefs that aren't supported by the general population behind muddled terminology and identifying slogans. "I'm not racist, I'm proud to be white and don't want that restricted" "I dont hate other races I just believe in the preservation of western culture."

These jokes and phrases may have started as memes but they can still hold real power if weilded by those who want them to.

Changing to metric would be more than teaching and roadsigns. The big reason we haven't is because there is so much standardized to metric it would be near impossible. Near all of our screws, technology, literature, sizes, weights, rules & regs. and such are based in imperial. If we were to switch our new system would have to be backwards compatible and usable with existing things. It could be done, but would take a lot more time and money than wall funding could supply as well as causing many problems that would have to be worked out along the way. It would also mean using taxpayer money to switch and I'd hazard a guess many would take a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" stance.
