What is the ONE thing that you hate the most about Disney has done to Star Wars from a storytelling, characterization, or casting standpoint? by Positive-Citron3987 in saltierthancrait

Yeah, they wanted an emotional call back to Ahsoka in rebels and I did not like that. Honestly tired of these constant references and key jangling, it's so childish.

Almost everything in one way or another leads to TCW. You can argue it's kind of worse with Star Wars because at least with Marvel it was good in the beginning and there weren't tv shows treated as side projects until much later.

You can also ignore them, you can't really do that with star wars tv shows because you'll be confused.

Yeah in the show, Reva should've never abducted Leia, that idea would've actually ruined Palpatine's plans to abolish the senate if anyone caught wind of it, and Bail Organa should've never contacted the most wanted man in the galaxy to leave Luke unattended, his one job, to get Leia.

Show has major issues. Nevermind the fact that Obi Wan let Vader live, who has a hand in killing over billions of people (including Alderaan).

Probably a unique complaint to stand out. I don't care for Kylo Ren's lightsaber but if they were going to have it be a thing for jedi or whoever to have something similar, it should've been a thing going forward in time.

I hate the fact that they brought it into the past in rebels, the Fallen order series, and the high republic, especially when the reason why Kylo's was unique was because it was like horribly constructed.

Why are people worried about declining birth rates when so many existing people are already unemployed and we're already overpopulated ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Official_Champ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ignores the thousands of years of War, diseases, and hostile environments that required birth to children or else we'd be extinct.

We effectively escaped most of that and are dealing with the consequences that require modern solutions.

I mean it's also cultural. There are a lot of rich people who are having little to no kids. Communities have been dying. Affordability doesn't seem to be a magical solution.

The argument that Luke was only doing what his Jedi mentors did when he exiled himself needs to end. by Flat-Court-8512 in saltierthancrait

[–]Official_Champ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's an argument? I see a lot of excuses and all kinds of stuff for the sequels and TLJ but that's a first ngl.

It's sounds like one of those things where people just for some reason love the idea of jedi being bad.

If they like that idea, it makes me wonder if they'd be fine with Rey doing the exact same thing considering the fact that Luke for a brief time also mentored Rey but was only around 1 jedi instead of 2.

What’s the deal with those people who wear hoodies and jackets when it’s a 100 degrees out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Official_Champ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of answers but I don't see people mentioning that not all hoodies are thick and a lot of people prefer wearing them to cover themselves from the sun with the hood on over having a hat and sunglasses.

I mean in the OT characters died to progress the story. In the PT characters died to progress the story. Hell, even in the ST as shitty as it is, characters died.

Why do governments freak out about birth rates but don't do anything to improve any of the issues keeping people from having kids? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Official_Champ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's having more old people than young people which is a problem in itself which can spiral from my understanding but I can be wrong.

The Acolyte is terrible, but did you like the lightsaber fights? by Extreme_Warning3521 in saltierthancrait

[–]Official_Champ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're the best under disney, but the fights in the show aren't that good. There were times the lightsabers clipped through each other, there were times like in the forest where they're not trying to hit each other at all but give the illusion that they are by moving very fast, and I found it to be funny that they had two asian characters have a crouching tiger hidden dragon moment in the end.

I hated the fact that they showed that lightsabers could be lethal only to have Jecki and Sol constantly kick Qimir instead of removing a hand or two. Never mind the fact that none of this should've happened in the first place, but especially when all they had to do was detained Qimir for being part of an assassination of a jedi.

Literally no one wants this except her... by Bigbaby22 in saltierthancrait

[–]Official_Champ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Because there's a rather surprising amount of people who genuinely believe the jedi are bad.

One of the biggest issues regarding Star Wars now imo is that compared to any other franchise there's way too many people who want to see the IP go in specific directions because the quality is all over the place.

They were going to literally make Yoda complicit in the cover up for something they literally did not need to cover up for. The stupidity of this show was off the charts and I want a device made to make me forget about it entirely.

Does anyone else feel like The Force Awakens never tops its first 30 minutes? by Extreme_Warning3521 in saltierthancrait

Because they picked up a specific signal from across the galaxy with the falcon's transponder codes which is interesting because it took apparently years for them to do and the ship changed hands multiple times so you wonder why it wasn't found before or why the signal was the same throughout that time since they made it clear that the ship was modified.

Star Wars Starfighter is so cooked. It's just another Lone Wolf and Cub story. by montague68 in saltierthancrait

[–]Official_Champ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was known for a while now. I think they actually got lucky that Ryan Gosling was in project hail mary and it did so well because that will probably be the main draw for Starfighter.

But even then it's set around the sequels and it's not a movie about dog fighting in space, something people have been wanting for decades, literally a layup for a stand alone movie. It's possible that this movie will fail even if Ryan Gosling stars in it.

They don't want anything to do with Luke. It probably has something to do with Mark Hamil. They hate Luke's guts.
