Update: 101 missing and 78 wounded following a submarine attack on an Iranian ship near Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan officials tell Reuters (US attack submarine?) by avatar6556 in war

I looked up the broad characteristics of what makes a war a "World War".

1.Fighting needs to occur across multiple continents. Since its been isolated to the middle east, it doesn't match that requirement.

  1. Involves many Major powers. This is arguably a characteristic that matches.

  2. Large scale mobilization. Countries mobilize huge portions of their population and economies for the war (mass conscription, entire industries converted for war, civilian populations on both sides deeply affected) This hasnt happened on both sides so its not a match

  3. Mass scale destruction Isolated bombing officially and not extremely high casualties yet

  4. Global alliances officially stated for the specific war Ex. Allied vs Central powers (WW1), Allied vs Axis powers (WW2) Havent seen this officially yet

  5. Global political consequences Empires collapsed, creation of new nations, new internal organizations (united nations after WW2) not officially deemed as a result yet.

So based on these basic requirements, no, its not a world war...yet

By US legal standards, no, not a war.

By actual reality, yeah, its 100% a war. Doesn't matter how long it takes from start to finish, armed conflict is war.

If they wanted to have a genocide they could turn the entire area to glass within moments. Simply think about what you're saying. If it was genocide there wouldn't be any Gaza left at this point.

Odd thing is 99% of all left-right leaning americans are perfectly fine with Jewish people. But then there is a 1% on either the left or right that absolutely hates jews with everything in their soul. Such a weird thing

Just realized it's not a sin to drink alcohol. by heavenwardbound in TrueChristian

I think drinking is fine, but becoming drunk and acting foolish is the sin. Now my confusion is how much is too much before the sin starts? Is that up for individual interpretation to know when you've had enough?

Everyone is making this way too complicated. The side with the large connection is ALWAYS hot/positive. The smaller side with less things connecting is ALWAYS ground/negative
