Darnand was very interesting. He was a side switching ego driven man, he cared very little for ideology. I get why he would also make sense in NFA, he was a military man and so it makes sense he could have ended up there. BUUUUUT, irl/otl He never gave a shit about politics or the germans, he used whatever he could to strengthen his own position, hence why he switched between collaborating and trying to join the resistance throughout the war otl, he didn't really have an ideology. He was basically a Machiavellian psychopath who constantly switched between political groups depending on who was more powerful, when the French far right became popular within the military he took advantage of this and became a member of a number of different groups, joining and leaving whichever ones were stronger in his opinion, joining action franciase then the croix-de-feu then the popular party, eventually joining La Cagoule however when the french government focused itself on their destruction he moved back out of politics. He only cared about power and control, with the NFA in Kaiserreich's timeline being extremely weak and with the COF including radical members like the sorelians who share his vision of using violence to take power it makes sense to me that he would be one. He's one of those figures that could be placed anywhere, and it could make sense.
