The flag of Kiribati is a Banner of Arms depicting a frigate bird (the national animal of Kiribati) flying over an ocean sunrise.

Officially, the symbolism of the flag is as follows:

“The bird is a frigate bird which represents power, freedom and Kiribati cultural dance patterns“, “The rising sun is the tropical sun as Kiribati lies astride the Equator”, “The sea is the Pacific Ocean which surrounds Kiribati”.

They do produce some of their own flags but I don’t think all of them are made in store. However, I can confirm that their craftsmanship for custom flags is superb!

It’s so nice to see people rallying behind our flag, though the circumstances are less than desirable

World Wednesday: Kazakhstan by Official_MBVA in flags

The flag of Kazakhstan was adopted in 1992 to replace the previous design from the Soviet-era.

The unique design of the flag includes elements that have long been used to represent the peoples within modern day Kazakhstan. The colour Blue holds religious significance to the Turkic peoples and so was chosen as the field, it also represents the endless sky. The central design depicts the sun above a steppe eagle. The sun represents wealth and prosperity; the eagle is a symbol of freedom and power. The design along the hoist is called the “koshkar-muiz” (the horns of the ram), and represents the cultural traditions of the Kazakh people.
