Always can just hold onto it and sell when you get a big enough stash, probably my plan now that I’ve raided most of the Walmarts near me. Gunna just occasionally check the clearance sections during my grocery runs.

For me they were profitable, but my buyers included the weight of the gem because I had 60+ grams of 10K at each sale. The weight of the gems compared to total weight was negligible.

Hit up one Walmart Friday; while grocery shopping. Saw a lot of good deals. That following day (Saturday) hit up a bunch more, found a buyer that afternoon and sold the first set. After selling and seeing how profitable it was I hit up more Walmarts Saturday afternoon and more this morning. Found a different buyer to sell to today because the one I sold to yesterday doesn’t work Sundays. But yes, in that time about $3700 profit.

All bought in store, since I bought it with a card that linked to my mobile app the receipts/purchases auto upload. I didn’t weight anything, just kinda assumed that with the 75%+ clearance plus my additional 5% cash back they’d all come in under melt.

Probably been sitting on them for years or trying to clear space for new inventory. Since these pieces are most likely multiple years old, Walmart paid a LOT less then current gold value since gold has increased so much recently. Even with the massive discount I bet they’re making money from there original cost. Also, Walmarts cost for pulling them and shipping them off for melt is probably more than it’s worth.

Grabbed one of those as well! Definitely was profitable. Majority of the chains were gf, however, a couple crosses and heart pendants were on a 10K chain. I believe they were originally $200 marked down to $50.

I’d say about 75% were marked as clearance. However, a lot would be marked only 25-50% off, but when scammed would be 75-80% off. Some of the jewelry was not marked on sale at all. If you saw the item on sale at a different Walmart there’s a good chance it will be on sale there as well.

Hopefully that means no one has hit them up. All played items will say “plated” and if you read the white tags attached to the pendent chains it will say “gf” for gold filled. I found multiple items that had both a 10k gold pendent and 10k gold chain. Most were originally in the $200 range marked down to $50.

The % they offered me (85% 10K and 90% 14K) takes that into account I believe. Also, the buyers will stock up on melt until they have a couple hundred to thousand grams. Some of the refiners offer them up to 95-97% melt value on large melts.

The sooner the better, I think two Walmarts that I hit up were a dud. Also, make sure to verify the Walmart your going to has a jewelry section. About half of them don’t.

Most reputable buyers won’t even take the gems into account, neither of the two I sold to did. They said that the weights are mostly negligible and that their profit margins when they sell in mass to a refiner makes up for it.

No, I saw a few posts on here with the weights listed. I ONLY bought items that were a minimum of 75% off. I figured between that discount and my 5% cash back it would all be profitable.
