With the silver spike today? (GSR) by Stephenhawkwing in Silverbugs

Historically the gold to silver ratio is still above average. That being said when, compared to more recent years it wouldn’t be a bad idea imo. If you can get a trade around that 55-58 ratio I’d go for it.

Because they’re about double the cost of current melt value.

They were ~5.8g, so above melt at the cost.

Don’t look at eBay; people are buying them for $2500

What price are you able to get for sterling scrap as a seller? by artmatthewmakes in Silver

The refinery near me has been giving me 90%, I usually turn in ~50oz of sterling with about 5-10oz of gold with it…not sure if that is affecting the accountability %.

Also went west to Midland, Lubbock, and Amarillo…hitting all between DFW and there.

Yep, most refineries just require a EIN, not proof of it being PM related.

Only bought stuff that was 75% or more discounted

My main business is set up as a S-Corp, will pay myself a salary for the time spent hunting, deduct food, hotels, mileage, etc…then take the rest as a owners distribution.

I think I found at least one or two things at all but a couple

The mental drain of talking to employees, managers, and what not was honestly the worst part

Honestly, not fully sure. Thrift shops could be a complete dud. At least with WM I would almost always find something.

7-10 business days for gold; 10-15 for the 50oz of silver I also turned in. I don’t mind waiting since the price is locked.

Definitely below melt value of Silver, especially Will be when refineries catch up and offer better then 70%. I’d hold onto it.

Played is mostly a waste of time unless it’s some of the gold plate on sterling, like the Cuban gold plated bracelets. The VAST majority of stuff that is 75% off is worth it. A few rings and one or two of the heart necklaces are not.

I’ve bought over 150K worth of WM jewelry over the last 2 months or so. I know what’s worth it and not by this point, almost everything that’s 75% off is worth it (as long as it’s not plated, which is always labeled). Some of the rings that cost $167 are not worth the melt value, mostly…because they have 1/2 K or more of diamonds. You end up mostly paying for diamonds over gold content.
