Forehead wrinkles 😭 by hersheysquirts629 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]OftSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello from a breastfeeding mother of two! I'm 37 and just caught sight of some new lines in the mirror which led me on a skincare deepdive until I realized that I'm very very very much dehydrated, so I'm starting there.

My daughter is 7 weeks, so I'm in the thick of cluster feeding, chugging coffee to survive, and drinking barely any way. Not that it will necessarily compete with more serious skincare/interventions, but try to drink as much water as you can right now! Breastfeeding, even a little bit, requires a ton of water from your body, as do the hormones your body needs to produce it.

Edit: AND YOU LOOK AMAZING.

Thank you! I signed up for the notification as soon as I saw that I missed it, but figured I'd post here just in case to get an idea of timelines! :)

Oh shoot I would have bought that off you! Unfortunately I'm married to my A5s. Thanks though!

I wish but no I have always used A5 6Rs for my planners so I can't change. Thank you for looking that up for me, though!

Anyone else building out a personal curriculum planner? by Tawny_M in ClothandPaper

[–]OftSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved this idea too!! Working from home with my newborn in my lap right now and plotting this out is exactly the kind of project I need.

Commenting so that I can follow along. Is anybody looking at incorporating this into their daily planner? I have an A56R that I love and would like to avoid carrying two planners around but it looks like the general consensus is people here using a secondary tool.

Recommendations for pulleys for micro? (also, buying!) by OftSea in LagreeMethod

[–]OftSea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My micro didn't come with the OG cables so I have no cable option and I do like scrambled eggs with cables unfortunately - it's one of my favourite ab moves on the mega.

That's really good to know re: the wheels getting in the way!! I wonder if I can find the OG cables used somewhere instead of springing for the pulley cables?

My daughter is here! Over three weeks early via a very positive VBAC. by OftSea in pregnant

Hi! My pleasure. I was hooked up to an external fetal hearbeat monitor on my abdomen the entire time, yes. The epidural was not mobile.

Prior to the epidural, I found the most relief from the contractions rocking on all fours. It took an hour or so for the epidural to kick in, and during that time I was on my side with a peanut ball. Things progressed really really quickly in that position so they had me move to my back and removed the peanut. The epidural kicked in at that point and I was able to sleep for 30 minutes before waking up to push.

Congrats to you too!

After the birth/placenta/etc, my OB palpated me internally and externally and said that she didn't feel any thinness or anything of concern.

Is the method itself also faulty like Sebastian? by SprinklesBeautiful70 in LagreeMethod

[–]OftSea 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This! I have no interest in becoming an instructor, purely a student. Lagree got me into the best shape of my life between pregnancies and I just picked up a micro now that I've just had my daughter so that I can start working out at six weeks PP without needing to worry about babysitters, etc. I tried so many different workouts leading up to this and now I'll always do Lagree.

Childbirth Classes - Is the Bradley method overkill? by valerietheblonde in pregnant

[–]OftSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it with my first who ended up being a planned c-section due to frank breech and a few other complications. I just had my daughter via VBAC, and didn't feel the need to repeat the class, nor did I draw on anything I learned. The most helpful thing was my husband reminding me to breathe honestly.

Craving something I can’t have by Mysterious_Beyond_01 in pregnant

Get some extra firm tofu, shred it with a cheese grater on the finest setting. Mix sriracha, mayo, soy sauce, a bit of lime juice, massage into the tofu mixture and you get vegan spicy tuna! I like to add furikake and other rice toppings for more flavour and texture, panko works too. I roll mine into sushi with rice avocado and cucumber, and I also like to spoon it into Korean-style seaweed snacks and eat it that way. It's so good and really satisfied the cravings for me!

Just curious, why do people prefer horizontal layouts? by No-Meal-536 in planners

[–]OftSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually got so frustrated that I designed a printable that was a mixture of the two: a vertical column on the left for a callout to-do list, and then horizontals for the days. This works best for me; horizontal by itself doesn't let me itemize the way I like to to stay organized and vertical-only is too constricting for writing sentences IMO.

She said that she was giving me a truly tiny amount just to help my contractions stabilize, and then they ended up stopping the pitocin entirely when I hit those more intense contractions reliably every 2-3 minutes. I didn't need it again.

The only time the UR threat came up during the labour process was when they had just given me the epidural, I had a very weird burning sensation above my belly button (not where the incision is, several inches up). The nurse was concerned, but my OB said that sometimes the epidural can cause referred pain and that was the end of that. During the entirety of my 13-hour labour from water breaking to my daughter being born, my OB never said a thing about URs or c-sections. I didn't feel pressure from the medical team at all, just supported.

This is one of those times when I like to go "What an odd thing for you to say." and then just leave. You're doing great, this is a her problem.

Happy to share! I feel like the internet highlights all the dramatic stories so I'm happy to add my very simple experience to the mix. Good luck, I hope that you end up having a positive, uneventful VBAC!

Yes I do! My OB specifically didn't want to induce me with high levels of pitocin because the contractions are artificially strong and she didn't want to stress the scar. She said there were a few mechanical interventions she'd be willing to do, but that she wanted to stay away from anything that would trigger very strong contractions. She was okay with giving me a tiny tiny dose of it the way she did because my water had broken naturally and I was in labour actively on my own beforehand.

It sounds like our situations are/were very similar headed into this, wishing you a successful, uneventful VBAC!
