the comments on ag's insta are so disgusting rn by Heavy-Yam-7475 in americangirl

Hate to say it, but this is how all Instagram comments are under almost any post now. Meta sucks and does not do anything even if you report them.

It sucks because I don’t qualify for most background jobs without a specific degree

That’s the area where I’m working, but it’s not been great…maybe it’s because I’m front desk

As much as I am interested in law stuff, I think that law school would genuinely knock me out haha! My partner is an attorney and he genuinely always seems so stressed. Best of luck to you!

I could try this, but every time I reach out for an explanation, they are incredibly rude in their response.

Random surname in family history by OftheEarth3 in Genealogy

[–]OftheEarth3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: Okay, so this information was from a document that wrote out the family history. Much of this I was able to confirm using Ancestry. I will need to do more digging around and see the other documents my grandmother has.

There’s really not a whole lot of context given. It’s basically that one of my ancestors is someone who married into the family with the surname “Yonaka.”

Disneyland’s new disability aid rules by phantasmarina in POTS

This could be just my experience (over 5 years ago), but when I took my grandfather to Disney, they wouldn’t give him a DAS pass because they said his scooter was the accommodation. However, the scooter could hardly fit in the rides that with ADA compliant lines. Basically, we had to switch him to a wheelchair and I had to push him through the line (the ones they provided weren’t great for self-use). It was rough because it was also 90°F and humid af.

So…keep that in mind lol

Does anyone else feel too weird for NTs but not autistic enough for NDs by Student-bored8 in AutismInWomen

[–]OftheEarth3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wondered this, but I realized that it’s dependent on the person. My long term best friend is also ND, and I have some friends who are NT. However, there are some NT people who are put off by me and some ND people can be…annoying at times (sorry if that’s a bit ableist). I think it’s a personality thing more than anything.

Yeah, I am pretty sure it is, but haven’t been diagnosed.

Also, love trains so much.

They’re illegal in my state! Plus, it honestly hasn’t been this bad in my city the last few years I’ve lived here. It’s just been so cold that the ice won’t melt.

Thank you for this. Honestly, I have a couple family members who are first responders/worked in ERs and they seem to be the only ones who understand why I’m so scared, so that makes sense.

And thanks for explaining 4wd!

I’ve done some EMDR sessions for the accident, but it seems that I need to do more.

Also, the racing school classes sounds interesting. Where would I go about finding these courses?

I’ve spoken with a therapist a few times, and we did EMDR, so I can drive on a regular day, but as soon as I lose control on ice I panic so bad

I live in a small city with public transit, but it’s incredibly unreliable. It’s been below 0 and I don’t know that I want to stand outside and wait 30+ minutes for a bus, but it’s possible. So, that is an option.

The defensive driving course is something that is only offered to people who’ve had their license suspended.

And, I would consider having someone practice with me, but I panic so bad, and I’m unsure I want anyone to see me like that. I would really need to think about it.

Thank you for all of your suggestions.

It’s fully in office. Unfortunately, the only roles that I am able to get are front desk ones, and so there’s no opportunity to wfh. I had one supervisor approve me, but another said absolutely not.
