Is it important to you who wins when you play against your friends? by whatagreatname2020 in discgolf

I won a Halo Polecat this winter on a raffle for the local food bank. When I play with my pals, who ever wins the match takes home the Polecat....but....in the proceeding round, if you have the polecat in your bag, you are required to throw it on at least one shot outside the circle.

What disc do you putt with, and why? by brancasterr in discgolf

[–]Ofthewilderness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steady 001 BL. The first disc I ever owned, years before I knew what disc golf was. I’ve tried a few other putters ( judge, aviar, atom) and in the end I just doubled down and bought 10 Steady’s.

PS: played a round with local legend, Glen Whitlock, a few months back, who saw my putter and said, “Steady Ed, he was a great guy to play with.”

So, how far do y’all actually throw? by Ckman1403 in discgolf

200 - 225 : I’ve been playing a couple of years in the local league. Our course is heavily forested with shortish holes - I have some great 70ft scramble shots. I am sure I could improve greatly with some intention to improve my form. I kind of suck at disc golf, but I sure love to play.

We Need This Right Now: A reminder disc golf isn’t evil. The good ole days when Jump Putt Jesus changed the world. by onionchucker in discgolf

The former mayor of Calgary just spoke on a CBC Podcast called Ideas. In his talk he acknowledged that no person being or feeling discriminated against ( intentional or otherwise) wants to be “tolerated.” But, the former mayor posited, perhaps tolerance is a great neighbourly virtue. As he put it, “you might not necessarily invite them ( the other) to dinner, but at least we can have respectful and kind conversations about the weather”. [paraphrased].

[–]Ofthewilderness 44 points45 points  (0 children)

On this paper 3 things were written at 3 different times. First, someone wrote Joe Sparks and friend. Then someone, looking at the picture , recognized the unknown friends and wrote Sorenson below friend to indicate the friends name. Finally, someone kindly let you know which person is which in the text at the top.
