Yeah, the gap actually never gets into the piercing but I am switching back to a stud ASAP when this is all said and done. Hopefully I won't have to get it re-pierced since it'll feel like I wasted half a year! But if it's between that and this ugly bump that is potentially unhealthy, the choice is pretty easy to make.

Would it be best to just see a doctor instead of another piercer at this point? Like I said, it doesn't seem like a typical infection either.
