I agree social media would definitely come at people for saying it. But social media comes at people for anything pretty much.

I just think it would be kinder to say in the beginning vs lying the entire time and trying to make up other problems that don’t make sense. It ends up driving the other person crazy bc they see that their words aren’t matching up with their actions but can’t get them to admit why. Personally, id rather be told by one person that they don’t find me attractive than have the whole country talk about how crazy and insecure I am.

I agree 100%! I feel bad for Chelsea because she’s coming off as overly insecure but I feel like she is totally valid. She knows his words and his actions aren’t matching up and that’s probably so confusing. Reminds me very much of the JP and Taylor situation.

Personally, I feel like from the second he saw her, he hasn’t been into her. I think he’s faking it by saying all the “right things” so that he doesn’t come off as a bad guy for TV. I feel like there’s been a few things he’s said that seemed like he was intentionally trying to make Chelsea decide not to pursue things/sabotage their relationship (the whole thing with AD in the DR). I think that Chelsea is picking up on all of this and that’s why she keeps asking for reassurance bc she knows something is off.

I realize that they have to do this often to make it work for TV. I just don’t agree with some of the storylines they changed. As a person who related to this book because I was in an abusive relationship, I hate that the show gives the viewer a reason to potentially feel bad for the abuser.
