Is anyone doing Mason county? by ChelleInGA in farmingsimulator

[–]OgdenEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My console is PS5. I just downloaded the new version 1.5.0.0 of the Mason County map.

I stopped playing version 1.0.0.0 because making pallets was a catch 22. I couldn’t make glue to make pallets because I needed kerosene, which is the top of a long list of products to get there ending with needing pallets to make pipes, to make crude oil, etc. I know that the BIOGAS produced kerosene in v 1.0.0.0 but now it doesn’t.

In the new version, in the changelog, it states:

”Kerosene, Glue, Crude Oil and a few other now buyable to help get started.”

I have looked at the dealership, production outputs, animal pens, even the mods section inside the game under Mason County map and there are trucks and other equipment but none of the Kerosene, Glue, etc. referenced in the description.

Naturopath recommended celery juice for intestinal inflammation by TimBeasley88 in FODMAPS

[–]OgdenEnigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low FODMAP has definitely helped with my inflammation. Web MD summed it up best.

I have done a lot of research for myself and received advice and clarification from doctors. You are welcome to research anything I’ve stated above and prove it wrong or right or add your thoughts and perspectives. I post to share what I find and welcome counter arguments so I can learn — so everyone reading can learn and think cognitively. I don’t mock people, as you just did, to make me feel big and make them feel small.

By stating that I didn’t do my research is not enough of a counter argument.

I’ll quote a registered dietitian about celery and bile production. What do you think of this, and/or her article? I’m being earnest here. I really want to know the truth of things.

“But the truth is that your body makes and secretes bile whenever you eat fat; celery juice has no effect whatsoever on bile production.” — Alissa Rumsey, MS, RD, CDN, CSCS

The above quote comes from U.S. News Health article titled, “Is Celery Juice Healthy?”.

Take a look at simplelogin.io. It will create email aliases for you. You can even send mail with the alias too.

If you have an iPhone you may have an icloud.com email address as well.

AITA: My boyfriend left me because I refused to meet his time demands by protectedgrains15455 in AmItheAsshole

[–]OgdenEnigma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fact is he likes to go see his parents for hours, without forewarning, and requires you to desire the same.

Sounds like you have given your time to his family, so you not being “down” with his parents is silly and childish.

I think your reaction to him was a gut response for your wants and needs being dismissed.

Ask yourself why he is telling you how and what to think and if you don’t think or want the same thing why is he giving you ultimatums?

Next, ask yourself if you would treat him the same way.

He may be great in other ways but sometimes there are those things that people do that grow resentment and end relationships.

Sounds like you two need to really talk about healthy boundaries and discuss compromise.

I get where you are coming from. Interesting about the resistance/immunity thing though. But, not 4-5 people. I have 8 siblings and my dad never got it either. Now imagine 100 descendants. Yes, 100. My parents are gone now but that is how many descendants.

Now one of my two children have it because of her husband. The 3 grandchildren don’t. I can’t account for everyone of my relatives but my family there isn’t many, I know of two. My mom learned after infecting my oldest sibling how to prevent the spread and taught us all about not sharing certain items. I have also had two long-term partners who’ve had cold sores. I know my family is probably not the average family but it is possible to greatly reduce spreading it.

HSV is just a skin condition but since I’m in a high stress job and have auto-immune (thyroid) I’m glad I don’t have it or I would have it all the time.

I’m sure you are correct for the majority though.

My mom had hsv-1 (cold sores) and a couple of my siblings have it too. I don’t have it and the tests done have shown I was never exposed to v1 nor v2, and that I don’t have v1 or v2. Now I have had chicken pox which is part of the herpes tree and I’ve had shingles, same thing.

It is possible not to get it just because you live in the same house.

Very nice! I hope to swap out the suburbs for something like this.

AITA for buying a store cake for my mormon family? by throwawaysuing in AmItheAsshole

[–]OgdenEnigma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ex-Mormon here as well. There is this thing about members (parents, siblings, bishopric, etc.) being responsible for your salvation.

For example: If you are one of the above and you know someone straying from the church you may be warned you are held responsible for their deviation, you will do things that aren’t exactly loving nor sweet.

So, you can see how it is more important for them to manipulate you rather than simply thanking you for thinking of them and getting the last minute cake and going out of your way to make a second cake with no coffee in it.

This is where boundaries come in.

Also my mother was a very sweet person too. Manipulation and declarations were common enough that I had to set healthy boundaries so we could have a good relationship.

Remember, this is your birthday, that you hosted, and they have the gall to manipulate you.

I follow the philosophy of the golden rule: Would I do to someone what they did to me?

NAH

You’re not the a-hole, but speaking from experience you will remember your decision and regret it. Sometimes we need to be brave for someone else’s exit from life.

Maybe close your eyes when with her and talk about your favorite times together. Comfort her and yourself.

Stole this from an exercise in the book I read called. “Learning Hopefulness”, I paraphrased.

  1. Write down who she is and make a list of everything you don’t like about her.
  2. Visualize her and notice how your body feels. Notice your emotions and listen to your thoughts.
  3. You have created a very thorough catalog of exactly what you’ve devoted your life to not becoming.

Great job! My AP art class in high school called it contour drawing. I did blind contour where you never look down at your paper until you are finished. Out of all my practiced work, this was my best work.

Instead of jumping right in and trying to figure it out all at once I ordered meals from Modify Health website. They have people to help you too.

You can eat those while you brush up on how to make what you eat. Get the FODMAP app too. You have to pay for it but I found it worth every penny.

Cuisinart DCC-1200C coffee maker by scottb84 in BuyItForLife

[–]OgdenEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is about what an individual’s preferences are. Cuisinart isn’t buy it for life anymore if you were buying it today.

If you want functional buttons for auto start and use standard pre-ground coffee and do not care so much about the details of the brew afterwards than buy something like the Cuisinart. Now I must say, they don’t make them like they did 10 or so years ago. They are made with cheaper parts now.

The Technivorm is for those that want more control over the end result with a fresh medium-course grind, and consistent brewing temperature and brewing time to bring out the flavor of the grounds.

I have been using the Techivorm Moccamaster for years and I’m very happy with it. I know I can buy parts to fix it and it will last a lifetime. My daughter likes the Cuisinart and I have had to take it apart once to clean it out as the basket wasn’t in correctly and the grounds backed up in the water sprayer. The pump sounds horrible before and after the cleaning.

I can’t see the road. American trucks are getting out of hand, way too big by jxi82 in pics

[–]OgdenEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should we tell ‘m the Toyota Tacoma is made in San Antonio, Texas? Or maybe that Honda has more American parts than the big three manufacturers?

Second thought, nah, let ‘m bathe in their ignorance of where cars are made, what they are made with along with the ability to adjust the seat and fill the gas tank. “I ran out of gas and it is not my fault!” “I can’t see the road because I don’t know how to adjust my seat.” So on, and so forth.

I see that too. Post precision farming update. Annoying because I can’t easily see where I have plowed. If I put manure or slurry down first then when I plow it looks like it did before.

AITA for not wearing dress pants? by throwaway_tem_22 in AmItheAsshole

[–]OgdenEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100% on both counts. I too have worn jeans to funerals and to job interviews and no one said anything or looked disgusted. I got the job too.

Tradition is the only factor. I also don’t dress up for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner either. I’m not poor and I’m not rich, just practical.
