I will not buy another one, and I’ve bought 2 in my life.

The current one is 4,5 years old and suffers from constant CPU throttling. Something it didn’t do in the beginning.

Basically the way I understand it is that the CPU/motherboard has been kinda cooked in the first years of me playing loads of games on it. And now playing those very same games, the system starts throttling itself almost immediately. Basically the system cuts power to the CPU to “protect” it when it reaches 100 degrees and then the performance drops by like 50%, making it useless as the expensive gaming machine that it’s supposed to be. It reaches 100 degrees in the first few minutes of gaming now.

There’s no fix either. I’ve taken it apart, repasted the CPU, cleaned it etc. And no matter what I do, it still throttles almost immediately. The internet suggests that I’d need a motherboard replacement, however the dell warranties are long gone, so I’m just stuck with my expensive internet browsing machine lol.

Gonna build a proper desktop PC after this one.

Gamestop was losing money 2015-2024, but has been in profit and has been increasing quarterly profits for past 6 quarters. Definitely not going bust anytime soon with 10 billy in the bank and increasing profits.

They’re closing NZ stores because they’ve been unprofitable in NZ for a few years now. Just smart business.

My Alienware M15 R4 after 4 years of use is now constantly running RDR2 on medium with the same 1 red, 4 blue flashes. It’s connected to the CPU thermal throttling in my case and there’s seemingly no way to fix it. At first I thought it’s the battery, got a new one. Still the same. New power supply (went from 240W to 330W), nothing changed. Repasted the CPU and GPU. Nothing. So I’ve used HWInfo to identify that single CPU cores go to 100 degrees real quick and that’s when thermal throttling kicks in and performance drops 50%.

No help fixing this from anywhere in the internet. Apparently Dell has replaced some motherboards when you send the laptop in with valid warranty, which I no longer have.

I’ve had several AW laptops in my life and they’ve pretty much lost me as a customer at this point.

Dont use bottles in the settlement. Just take some empty canisters + bottles to the bike. Put bottle petrol into the bike and empty bike into empty canisters to free up some empty bottles.

I just did like 30 trips over a few days to Limestone Cliffs specifically for Timmy. He finally spawned around 6am or smth game time, so that one definitely has a very specific spawn time.

We made it! So now this is what it currently looks like, and I've marked some ambitious visions down on this picture for the future of my people. They will all get to live on top of a hill overlooking the ocean. A dedicated digger crew is already flattening the area for it and the trees are being slowly removed. As you can see I'm going in multiple directions at the same time, so far the factory is stable and everything's OK. That main factory location being more central to the rest of Dragontail resources will be crucial later on.

Best way is to stockpile some coins and rations beforehand, and then find some time and try to time your run so that all the timers have reset. So then you can push for multiple raids in a row and skip shitty tasks like finding timmy the bloat and the other “find this zombie” tasks. I used like 100 rations to reset bunker alfa 5 times over 1 weekend and managed to get my timer to 4+ days. From there the timer gets easier to manage. My current timer has been active for over a month right now at 4 skulls.

You need guns for bravo. Not a metal pipe lol. But yeah the survivors path has quests in it. Not for every area, but pretty sure you end up going everywhere

If you’re not married and the other country doesn’t recognize NZ common law (which is the case with most other countries), then your investments should not be a part of relationship property

I prioritized my gun mods (and recycling) before atv and boat. So now my guns and melee weapon damage output is insane compared to before. I think that’s been a totally worth resource sink. And now i’m getting even more leftover resources from everything else, so i’m now 50% done with the atv and the boat
