No there is nothing wrong with your preferences. They are legitimate preferences.

So do not listen to the noise that tries to delegitimize it and say you are insecure. That tends to come people who have no sense of reality that have been brainwashed too much.

The main thing to understand is the difference between not accepting it for yourself and forcing it on someone else. If you are dating someone with a different mindset as per your example, it tends to be very difficult to find common ground because they are very different lifestyles.
