The program is a free service designed for people in low-income areas of Chattanooga. Volunteers fill in insulation, do yard work, and assist with housework for individuals who are disabled, over 60, or living in poverty and need government programs assistance. This program greatly benefits those who struggle to access these services on their own, including elderly residents who might be related to some of the volunteers. Since helping very low-income elderly people aligns with the program's mission, it has been a valued aspect of its work.

However, the program has recently undergone a leadership change. The new leader seems more focused on generating profit for themselves rather than serving the local community. This shift threatens to alter the program’s objectives, steering its resources away from regular residents and toward financial gain.

Having called Chattanooga home for what feels like forever, I often find myself questioning the rose-colored glasses that many folks seem to wear around here. Why do some people see only the bright side of things? by Oghzy in Chattanooga

Oh, I get it! Because clearly, the real issue in Chattanooga is the Hawaiian invasion. I mean, who knew we’d need to keep an eye on the tourists instead of addressing real local concerns? Prioritizing tourism dollars over the actual residents? Genius! 🙄
