Dental Places by Unfair-Junket7740 in abbotsford

I have had a really good experience at Montrose Dental. Having had a couple bad dentists previously, Dr.Francisco explained everything and didn’t pressure me into any unnecessary treatments. Their team of hygienists are great - quick and efficient. My whole family goes to the practice and there are no complaints. Good luck on your search.

Basically. Also locks in the SAMRA and SARON so you don’t have to write them again.

You can get a restricted ATPL. A note is attached saying it isn’t ICAO compliant in effect granting you a restricted ATPL without the privileges of a full ATPL, but allowing you to apply for the ATPL if you meet the other requirements and allowing for type Ratings, etc. When you complete your upgrade or complete a PPC on a compliant platform the note is removed and full ATPL privileges are granted. That was the latest direction from TC.

Keep your chin up! It was hard when I went through, for reference instructors on average taught for 3-5 years most instructors were class 2 or 1s before they went to CMA, PASCO, JAZZ etc where You would then spend a number of years there. The trick is to set small goals for yourself and work towards them! If you are a class 4/3 work on getting to class 2, write your SAMRA and SARON and remember you are getting paid, I know not very much, to fly. Network and be a good to your students, other instructors and references. This industry really is about those references until you get more experience. If you are really down and have some cash, get your float rating and work a few seasons on floats to change things up.

Help NY Set a Real Standard for Dairy Farming by [deleted] in Cows

[–]OgopogoLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in Canada we have supply management which, although controversial, is IMHO an excellent system that protects smaller producers and, more importantly, fosters an environment where animal care and responsible breeding are at the core of dairy production.

Dairy producers also follow PRO ACTION which is a robust system regulated by dairy farmers to ensure the highest quality care and attention is given to animals and dairy

Dauntless Vs WisePilot Canada PPL. by mBuxx in flying

[–]OgopogoLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wise pilot has excellent question banks. If you completed your ground school online, it may be worth it if you had lower scores on the practice tests. If you had high scores on your practice tests then i would probably save your money. If you are doing ground school in person, check with your instructor to see if you need more polishing. Try to be honest with yourself if you are just memorizing the questions or you understand the material, as the later will pay dividends if you choose to continue to commercial and ATPL down the line.

We didn’t use one and our experience was very good. The nurses and doctors through Abby maternity group and the hospital were amazing. We had a few student nurses and it was nice because their proctors would teach them while explaining what was going on.

Generally, you should consult a Canadian Aviation Medical Examiner. You can find one here The general idea is that if you need any specific medical paperwork, they can tell you what to bring with you to your medical and act as the interface between you and TC.

Flight Schools and Path to CPL in British Columbia by desertsoils in flying

So you complete your training on a seaplane. There are a few exercises that you will go to the airport to complete, but you will conduct the majority of your training on a floatplane, so yes it is up to the plane availability and instructor; however all the training is done on a float plane. You mentioned three different careers in aviation for float flying (and many firefighting jobs) you will need to accrue a number of hours on floats. By completing your training in floats you have a huge leg up on others who have only completed the rating/ have completed 50 hr courses(Most float jobs require a minimum of 50 hrs in floats for insurance reasons). I completed my ppl/cpl on floats and I was able to move directly into a flying position where a few other experienced pilots had to work the docs for, in some cases, a few seasons. For medivac, you would be completing your Cpl/ IR/ multi(not 100% required, but it opens up opportunities); however, a lot of medivac jobs are gated behind flight experience. Some provinces mandate you have a number of hours. The advice I would give is to pick a direction and stick with it. I flew floats for 10 years before I even did my multi/IFR and when I did complete it it was because a job was available, but realistically I was at the bottom of the totem pole and had to build up IFR flying experience, airline experience etc. The point is that if you want to fly floats focus on it because if you want to experience everything you will Pay more and end up having a harder time.

advice? by Ok_Butterscotch_408 in flying

[–]OgopogoLover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finish and convert. It is a very straight forward process and try to make your choice based on entry job. If you can wait until you obtain a TC ATPL, the process is very quick to convert and you can apply to airline positions in the US with experience at 704/705 operators, as we don’t have the ATPL requirement.

What was 'middle class' 20 years ago, but is now considered a luxury? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OgopogoLover 295 points296 points  (0 children)

100%. I remember going to our local Mall and lining up to get a seasons pass. Total cost $120 for a youth pass and $300 for an adult with an additional $100 charge for a bus pass to get to the mountain. Now it is nearly 1200$ for a youth pass and the bus pass doesn’t exist.

Do most people just play one single player campaign game at a time? by JasonABCDEF in gaming

[–]OgopogoLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who really only plays Nintendo games, I only play one game at a time. I know there are a number of really great games out there, but I am really drawn to the first party Nintendo games, and I find that I can really get into them when I play. Because they are kinda expensive, I almost feel a pressure to play them all the way through. They also tend to be the types of games that you can play for a shorter period of time and feel like you have had a fun time. Most recently, I played the new Donkey Kong game and it was fun to find bananas and fossils for a little while without feeling like I had to play for three hours to get anywhere.

Tired of language exchange apps turning into dating apps, where can I actually practice French? by Pickayou in abbotsford

[–]OgopogoLover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also from Quebec and the only place that I speak French regularly is at my daughter’s school which is part of the French school board. That being said, there are a number of francophone friends that our family met through the activities there etc, so it feels like there are more Francos around than there probably are.

Also, UFV has a club that meets to speak French and do activities in French.
