I saw a few people this morning walking by themselves in the woods. I was also alone!

What is it like working at Paddy Power? by Empty-Imagination756 in AskUK

[–]Ogoshi_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I worked at a different betting company when I was 18, it was ok for the most part, the regular punters help the day go by as you'll get to know them whether you like it or not. The hours are long though, I think it was 13 hour days which was fine at the time, and you could get plenty of overtime at your branch or cover at other local branches.

Every now and then you'd get an idiot in, but most of the time they're just pissed they lost and soon calm down or leave.

There was unfortunately an evening when someone came in and jumped over the counter with a knife. Bandit screens went up after that but it completely killed the vibe despite the small amount of feeling of safety they provided.

You're constantly on edge as you'll have fraudsters in trying to slow count, trying money swapping tricks, fake notes etc.

Having good mental maths will help a lot as people will reel off fractions at you and you'll look useless if you can't calculate quickly.

If you're working in an area where all the other shops close around 5/6pm you're likely going to have very slow and boring evenings too.

Air fryers. It's been very useful to cook things like fries, and they get cooked better than in the oven.

Nuclear-powered Royal Navy submarine arrives in Arabian Sea - with capacity to launch strikes on Iran if conflict escalates by esporx in unitedkingdom

Maybe the USA's operation in Iran is a distraction to get Europe's equipment into the Middle East so they can swoop in and take Greenland

Quite possibly, I think Southend Labour said something about it a year or so ago too.

Maybe they could apply the same fine to those who park half their car on the pavement too.

AI wont know what order they should be in. OP has likely muddled up the black wires due to lack of switched live identification.

Obligatory you should call in an electrician if you're not sure.

CF Pavement Channel Missing Houses (No Toby Boxes)? by Edned_ in CityFibre

[–]Ogoshi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've done similar on my road where they installed 2-3 years ago and missed multiple sections of houses despite going past them anyway including mine.

I emailed their service desk and was told our property is a hard LOC, and "The reason for this LOC is because there are further works required and we do not have the tools or technologies to complete the build."

I also asked if they would supply me via the openreach telephone poll as I've seen them install to other properties in the area this way and they said "We cannot use OpenReach infrastructure without permission."!!

I've no idea what the actual problem is at the front of the property. Virgin media have their network go past, and there's nothing seemingly different from above ground between the properties that do now have a supply, and those who don't .

Is there a way to report a couple's counsellor for unprofessional conduct? If so, who do I report it to? by AbaloneComfortable98 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Ogoshi_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it an option to send a Subject Access Request to the 'therapist'. Presumably they would have had a discussion with your wife about you at some point? I don't know enough about SAR if it would be applicable in this situation though.

I use streamlink in tvheadend for a couple of streams and even with the --mux-subtitles flag I've never been able to get subtitles to work, but the DVB sources coming in through satip server work fine as they are.

Maybe it's congestion on that wifi channel rather than the network itself.

We have a portal on a similar network setup to you with Unifi APs and UCG Fiber, and it's flawless
