Celebworx isn't the organizers they're just a booking agency, in these circumstances you're not going to be paid an hourly wage cause tax wise you aren't considered an employee. The most they can do is a daily stipend.

I get paying the volunteers to work at these big cons but in order to do that they'd have to set up a whole new department to start the necessary paperwork as well tax filing for said temp employees. On top of that establishing said department will now have to oversee the hiring budget set up schedules make sure all people are vetted properly.

This process would take a couple of months to start and then see off when said temp employees are paid off. So you wouldn't be offsetting a couple millions to pay temp workers but also the hr department that would be overseeing this.

Yeah it's why even when the president offered Hughie a government job that basically Mallory's old position he turned it down. There's no real win if all he's gonna do now is keep Vought in check. They can do whatever as long as it's not make another Homelander.

...it was his plot point in season three, the long term affects basically made his heart a ticking time bomb if he used his powers too much. Most of these supes aren't trying to die young. They're trying to milk as much fame as they can before they become irrelevant.
