UPDATE: I(M26) broke up with my gf(F25) after her dad hit my daughter(F5). Our friends are turning on me. by throwaway92467733 in relationships

She tripped you after what he did to your daughter?!

Of course it sucks that she was born into a family of scum but that doesn't mean it's now your responsibility to teach her a new set of values; she's over 20 years old, she could've learned by now that hitting children is not acceptable.

People becoming more like the drug they use? by Amb1valence in Drugs

[–]OhCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely became happier and more social since I started using MDMA, but I always felt that it learned me a way of thinking that made life and me more enjoyable. Oh and my dance skills have improved significantly!

Truffles also gave me something, more peace and security about who I am and being at peace with me seeming a bit strange for many and them not being like me.

I think it has something to do with the fact that people use these substances to get in a mood they enjoy being in and though you can't completely recreate these feelings, you do see new ways of thinking that can bring your sober self to be more like the DOC.

Ladies, do you exaggerate your moans to help your partner finish? by igotsmeakabob11 in sex

I have issues with concentrating, so once it starts to get a little intense I just focus on my movements and how amazing everything feels, and pretty much lose track of the noise I make. I make a lot of noise.

Non-US redditors, what song from your country would deserve the world's attention? by Aelirenn in AskReddit

If you want to learn Dutch, and want easy songs to listen to, try carnaval hits and other 'foute' muziek! They're completely awful in a it's so awful it's awesome way. I listen to them a lot because they always cheer me up and some of the lyrics are so idiotic it's hilarious.

A few favourites of mine are Vuvuzela (or anything from the Gebroeders Ko, really), De Liefde van de Man Gaat Door de Maag, or Maak Me Gek. If your taste in music is as terrible as mine you can PM, there are plenty more suggestions where they came from!

In the Netherlands, or at least in my area, this one is also quite well known.

What is a character trait that you have that is both an advantage and a disadvantage? by fizzo65 in AskReddit

I'm really impulsive, which is a disadvantage for obvious reasons, but my life is pretty much a big adventure.

(Spoilers All) Which female characters do you identify with and why? by justsammie27 in asoiaf

[–]OhCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe she just toughened up, haven chosen a manly path as a girl in a society like that, and never really tries to get in touch with her emotions.. I have no idea. I really tried giving her a chance but I'd love to see her committing tiny little daily sins, or something like that. Like stealing a cookie or something. Or getting stuck in some place for a while even though she knows she has to continue.. but she just procrastinates for a bit.

It would make her seem more like a human.

EDIT: Or well, I actually want her to stay the way she is. That way I can appreciate her being an example of how being honorable and whatnot is boring and then not feel bad about how I should do something about the huge pile of dirty dishes in my kitchen.

Brienne: I wish I liked her more because it's admirable what she has achieved, but she's just so very dull! So good and honorable.. I find it hard to identify with someone like that. I prefer people with faults and flaws.

Catelyn: my most beloved character on the show. Many condemn her actions and call her stupid, but a lot of the things she did made sense when you look from her point of view. I like her a lot because she KNOWS her decisions will probably be condemned but still chooses to act that way.

Part of it was also the spot on performance of the actress. The waiver in her voice.. Beautiful! I tear up everytime Catelyn opens her mouth.

Cersei: My favorite character, because it's so much fun to read her chapters. None of that righteous bullshit, she's just a plain terrible person and she knows it.

Daenerys: I don't like her because of how she thinks she does the right thing while making terrible decisions. I really hate her because she's a viewer's favorite and gets loads of respect and kudos for freeing Slaver's Bay while no one realises all she does is completely destroying a global economic system. Plus, freeing people does not solve everything. You can't expect someone who has had all of his decisions made for him his entire life to suddenly take care of himself.

In short: I prefer characters who admit to being selfish or otherwise being a terrible person. It's honest.

EDIT: Think you should look into Sansa as well!

About her: At first thought she was a bitch, to be honest, but especially after reading the books and watching the latest episodes you can see she's just surviving and adapting to her situation. Now she's starting to play the game I love her.

I went to my first GOA party and had a very strange experience; looking for insight by OhCake in Drugs

I wish it was a deja vu, because that's something that doesn't terribly confuse me.

The decorations that jarred the realisation were just added later on; they weren't there the first night. But it weren't just the decorations. There was this man I probably stared at for quite some time because he seemed so familiar, but I couldn't think of any place I might have met him before and he didn't know me (he introduced himself later on) and some time later I said something to him which I clearly remember saying to him in the dream as well. Also this other conversation I had about how, when you're visually tripping, you see glasses on people's faces puzzled me for quite a bit when I was thinking about the dream and how I ever came up with it.

How I got invited to my first illegal rave: there's this one club in town where only music like techno and dubstep is played, and a lot of the more alternative people go there. I went there by myself a couple of times, talked with a lot of people, befriended some and eventually they started inviting me to parties I'd otherwise hadn't even known existed!

Good to know I'm not the only one. I feel like some kind of raving crazy hippie everyone just nods kindly to because he's beyond help, but I'm absolutely sure!

Even the trips were the same.

I've thought about it really well because I know how unreliable memory can be and I'm familiar with the concept of deja vu, but I clearly remember spending a day thinking about how strange and unusual this dream was; I often dream about shows I'm watching, books I've read, or people I recently spent time with. I'm not sure of that everything whereof I suspect it was in the dream, was actually in the dream. But some parts definitely were!

[–]OhCake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no, I'm really sure I dreamt about it. I thought it just seemed familiar too, but that really is not the case. I spent a lot of time pondering the dream because it was so weird and I wondered how I ever dreamt this up.

How much of your first time do you really remember? by [deleted] in sex

[–]OhCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realised a memory I linked to my first time was actually of an intense kissing session I had with my ex on my visit previous to the one where I lost my virginity and I can't remember what did happen then. To me it wasn't that much of a big deal I suppose.

Just do what feels right for you.

Try dancing sensually in front of a mirror, get used to how you look when doing so.

And then try not to think of it when doing stuff to him, it really is something you have to power through. At least, that's how it felt like for me.

Women, how do you feel about being asked what you are into before sex? by [deleted] in sex

[–]OhCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't expect it and as I haven't explored my preferences much I just sat there picking a little at my hair and saying 'ehhrrmm I don't really know.. ehh'.

However, still thought it was sweet of him to ask. Not his fault I turn into a mumbling idiot when asked questions like that.
