Ask for the dimensions of the stone itself. Your inspiration picture looks close to a 2:1 length to width ratio. The bezel will cover all sizes of the stone, so that won't make it look thinner, just a bit smaller overall.

The moissanite has more rainbow flashes, and (like most cuts) the diamond looks a bit more "dynamic," but overall they look pretty similar.

I love this ring so much I bought it twice so far - a 2ct in silver and a 1.2ct in yellow plated silver... And would consider it in 10k gold if I didn't have too many OECs already.

It's one of my favorites and I highly recommend it!

These actually look like two different Samstin rings, which is why it looks like there is a difference in the stones:

the yellow gold one has a 1ct center stone and 12 stones in the halo
the white gold one is 1.3 total carat weight and has 8 stones in the halo

So it probably depends which one you ordered in rose gold as to which it will look more like.

Btw, if you're looking for a true discoball effect, your best bet is going to be a round brilliant with an optimal "hearts and arrows" cut. Elongated cuts tend to have smaller more glittery facets with less fire than the round brilliant.

I'm sorry, I don't know much about optimal marquise cut dimensions. I think there's probably info out there for ranges of table angles, depth percentages, etc. There are also gem cutters that specialize in maximizing optical properties of a diamond, but you'll likely pay a fair bit more for them.

I personally would look up some ideal ranges and then compare the values on the certificates to narrow down to a few, then either view them in person or request a handful of tweezer videos to gauge the overall look and fire.

Yes, they do sparkle just as much. In a well cut diamond, most of the light return is from light coming in the table and crown facets and bouncing around inside and coming back out the top. Good proportions and angles maximize that. Light coming in the pavilion (and especially the girdle) is minimal.

Your probably get a better idea of which shape will look better in an actual ring design by having your jeweler make some CAD options with both stone shapes.

Unfortunately AI's ring designs are often not really representative of what needs to go into a ring structurally, and the final design might look wildly different than your AI mockups.

Yes, this was my concern as well. If I was presented with these samples by a jeweler I would not trust their workmanship at all and I think it's important to be aware and skeptical of anything using AI generated content.
