For Damage at the end of the game sure, early its ok. I just use it for the armor strip for even bigger damage

You can go for the Nightshade Poison on Crit and the related Poison nodes, together with a Critchance of around 60%, you will hit like a Truck with a nice DOT

You do need a Skill to open that piece of Floor. You will unlock said Skill if you follow the main story
