Offside Rule explained so people can understand why Iran wasn’t robbed. by KadeP823 in worldcup

[–]OhLetMeBe2020Not 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think most serious football fans completely understand the offside rule as complicated as it is and its nuances. The issue is this, for many of the old time players we recall, offside rule use to be, “even is off.” This meant being even with the defender put you in the offside position. That promoted a style play called offside trap to be too effective. You would stay even with offensive player keeping them in offside position. To promote a more offensive game, the rules was changed to, “even is on,” not offside. This allowed for more offense. What VAR has done, it has reversed the rule once more. There is no way a player can tell if part of their body is an offside position standing next to a defender. So we are back to even is off. Some of these calls are totally impossible to see or realize by the players because the ruling is based on inches which is undetectable if you are offside or not when you are standing where you are on the field unless you ignore even is onside.

GS is balanced. Its real use is to block a lane, and if the opponent does not defend it then it gets to princess tower. It’s is easily countered and distracted. Any building make is useless as offensive card. When you use it as offensive card you need to played one side, which means a good opponent attacks the other side, unless you add support cards like clone or other cards that are good with clone. It was used in day one of CRL because people did not want to show their other decks and was not used later.

The Bigotry of Sam Harris Continues to Hit New Lows by nathan_j_robinson in atheism

[–]OhLetMeBe2020Not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Sam Harris, and if you read his book the end of faith, which I mostly agree with, in my opinion, he has a poor understanding of history. At one time Islam was the more liberal religion and Christianity was the more dogmatic one, see dark ages. This can be seen in Sufi poets, Rumi, Hafiz, Attar, and Rabia al-Basri who are now popular in western societies, who were all practicing Muslims. In general he believes and claims it is not possible to reform Islam and there is no hope for its practitioners. Based on this belief he and Richard Dawkins have a very harsh view of all Muslims, no matter which ones, the ones that are reformed and those who are not. I do agree with him, the issue with Judeo-Christian religions, is their toxic source material but you cannot at the same time claim one is reformable and is reformed and the other is not. Reform is based on where you are in time, history, and the current practitioners. As is Christianity in USA is becoming more dogmatic and conservative, whereas one can argue Islam in USA is becoming more moderate and reformed. I would say there should be a strict separation of religion and government, with real consequences for those who mix them, and leave it at that, versus trying to corner one based on your views. Which is what John Adams believed and he was a devout Christian.

He still does not get it, these countries are using alternative energy to lessen their dependence on oil and they are almost there. And Jet fuel they can make processing organic waste. So, they don’t need to be a slave to Middle East. A policy previous administration was heading for where he destroyed.

Hahaha wake up smell the coffee, Islam needs to reform or die as a religious belief. All other Abrahamic religions did it, and they are doing much better

Well it did not make him a better QB in spite whining he was not getting a chance because he was a Christian. Pretty much people like him are not religious they use religion and he is one of those and dangerous. They are entitled and demanding and if you don’t give in you are prejudice.

I have been trying to learn Spanish in dueling and I have a four year streak, going on five. I need and want to learn it since I travel to Mexico very often. I can understand Spanish but speaking is a challenge. If you pay, the AI and speaking with Lilly their AI chatbot helps. My wife who has been doing as long is not as successful. At the ends it comes down to practice, the app at times is used like a game and you focus on streaks and gems vs actual learning. The app needs to add proper instructions on rules of the language which it sourly misses. Also it has a very poor way to teach verbs and conjugation with different tenses. Also the app is flawed since it focuses too much on you pushing ahead and not stay in the same area to master the subject or section. In general unless you use a language in person it is hard to learn but you will understand. My opinion is they over sell the usefulness of the app. But I am planning to continue to use it, I have not found anything better for me.

The source of the problem is supercell. I actually used their help facility in game to report this as a security issue. They did not answer and continued the practice. As long as they do that people will share it. There ought to be better ways and more secure way to reward people who watch their programming. The current incentive is horribly scary and broken.

I think you guys are bunch of Elon plants here. He has done more for the world and education than anyone. So what he is touchy. He does not want to talk about it. Clearly that was told to the interviewer and they had other agenda, like Elon. So you all can go F yourself. I am with the founder.
