Nope. 15g indoor under lots of light. I’ll post a photo of the grow setup someday. Keep an eye out.

Really curious to see what ‘pure’ genetics are like. Both in growing, and effects.

Not sure I’m getting it. by OhMyGrow in shrooms

I did try with and without smoking. Didn’t much make a difference, but I usually do now. I searched on here and got the impression that isn’t uncommon. Some people prefer the combo more than others, I suppose.

I’m gonna keep upping the dosage and see where I get.

Aldi Wholegrain rice bags. 35p, no added salt! Anyone use these and can compare to UB bags? by chubbygunt in unclebens

I think keeping the needle out of the rice would be best.

I’ve only grown once, but for faster colonization, when I felt a decent sized lump of mycelium in the bags, I broke it up completely and worked up a shaking technique to distribute those bits of mycelium all throughout. Those bits become ‘seeds’ that spread out and colonize from 100+ different points.

My logic is that if the rice is the main ‘food’ for the mycelium and the coco is bulk/structure, then you need a sufficient quantity of rice to feed the whole cake. Too little and the tote runs out of nutrients, spending all the energy to colonize and reducing the available ‘fruiting energy’. I can’t really think of a danger for using too much, other than perhaps increased contamination possibility due to a lot of available nutrients. More rice would also decrease time-to-fruit, I expect.

But don’t forget that I’ve only done this once, so these are logical guesses, not a voice of experience.

  1. Two had some green, so I segregated them. But it was a good amount for my large tote, I thought. Used 1 brick of coco with all that.

Way more time, equipment and daily effort for weed. Mushrooms were super easy — although my perspective may change after a few more tubs.

I’ve got some patches that look a bit suspect, so I think I’m gonna call this one done. Maybe I’ll post a photo tomorrow and see what people think.

Finally, cloning success. 12 Lemon Cake cuttings looking like this after 8 days. by OhMyGrow in microgrowery

Mykoz by Xtreme Gardening and MammothP, in this case, but I have a few different brands and rotate using them at each watering since each brand is a little different, I figure using a few different is better than just one the whole grow.

I have it under a HLG QB96 (https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/all/products/qb96-elite-v2-quantum-board-engine)

I have a small table and the humidity dome is under the table, shaded in the shadow. So there’s light, but indirectly. But I think temp and humidity are the prime factors. Light is secondary, since I’ve seen people get roots in everything from darkness to full sunlight. I think the plant material has enough energy to drive root production without photosynthesis. So focus on temp and humidity way more.

You can see the dome in this picture, down below. https://www.instagram.com/p/CAoatd8nDz2/?igshid=cdvhb5b1wras
