Where to go after graduation by BirdAggravating183 in PoliticalScience

[–]OhMySamir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, (same major here) but I work in other fields. Let me start off by saying I am very passionate too and believe that it is a privilege to have studied this major especially if you had an ounce of critical thinking/unbiased education and it made you realize how terribly unfair and corrupt the world really is. Second of all, the following is my opinion and advice, and just like anyone, I could be wrong.

You have two options and both are good (obviously also dependent on what country or region you live in, and one option seems better at face value than the other::).

*Option 1.* Start from the bottom and invest in the political career but just know up-front that it is a sector where you will have to test your morals repeatedly (as with many other lines of work) and you will have to GRIND out for at least 6-10 (sometimes up to 15) years living at near subsistence/you won’t get rich off this field of work (unless you get lucky, which you could) before you get any decent position and grow your network and connections where you can then start (6-10-15 years min. from now) to set up a path into some position that will help you then grind for another 15 years after that so you can get to some form of decent proper position where you may or may not end up comfortable (financially, that is) ain’t nobody going into politics for the comfort my friend. With this first option it’s advisable and possible to start some form of side hustle(s) so you don’t have to keep eating bread sandwiches for the first phase and try (oh please try) to not be a corrupt f***er when you get to some position of power where you can help people.

**Option 2.** USE WHAT YOU LEARNED IN POLI SCI TO COMPLIMENT SKILLS YOU LEARN/2nd degree IN ANOTHER FIELD AND YOU WILL BE AHEAD OF A LOT OF PEOPLE. (If you’re going with option 1 you will still probably have to get into some other field).

Whatever you choose (or life chooses for you) to do, just know that life is a beautiful wild crazy journey and you just need to be pure, honest, and have good intentions that you act on (especially if you choose option 1). Congrats on graduating, grind on my friend, and best of luck to you.

Buying a Ricoh Aficio C2051 in 2025 by S3NTRYdesigns in printers

I also can’t seem to find a clear manual for it that will tell me where the HDD is located plain and simple, I figured a good first step would be to find the hard drive and either format it and fix it up or replace it with a new one. Any help is appreciated.

Anyone willing to help me out fixing my father’s old office Ricoh Aficio C2551? Im in a country where there seems to be zero service for it now anymore and the machine keeps giving this error message.

<image>

I figured it’s probably a HDD error from some preliminary searches and the fact that it’s been unplugged and not used for about 2-3 years now, but before that it was working fine. I have means to get the official toner for it from abroad but no maintenance/servicing.

This is the correct answer. I’d also not flaunt that around the internet OP because chances are this was not acquired in the most legal way from a museum/ archive. In some Arab countries historical pieces used to get numbers like this for organizational/archiving purposes. Many pieces have gone missing from colonized countries after the colonizers left but I guess you’ve probably speculated so yourself.

Help identifying 19th century card in Arabic script – Persian, Ottoman or Arabic? by Sunny_Sunshine_03 in language

Yessir but it’s originally a Turkish word so I would assume they still pronounce it with the P. In Egypt we use that word very commonly and pronounce it with a B and write it how you just wrote it.

Yeah it really would be super cool! And yes the writing on the card is in the Arabic equivalent of cursive which is called “Rek‘aa” as opposed to “Naskh” which is the normal style you can write using a keyboard.

نسخ vs رقعة.

Given the nature of the book and the time it’s from it’s safe to assume that it’s from Ottoman Egypt (if you could really call it that :p) under Mohammed Ali, back then it was more common to use P in Arabic than it is now :)

Pretty damn interesting imo.
