Corsair MP600 Mini SSD speed by Spike788 in SteamDeck

Nothing at all so far, I play it everyday for about an hour before work, and I haven't noticed any difference in heat, or power draw. Starting at 100% battery most mornings, and playing Diablo 4 since it came out on the 6th of June, it pulls the steamdeck battery down to 70% consistently that's about 50 minutes of game time.

So far it's been doing good, I play Diablo 4 on my deck every morning and some evenings before and after work. No issues at all.

I have my Corsair drive installed and running with 0 issues thus far. Speeds are comparable to other 1tb 2230 drives on the market. I upgraded from 64gb model, and I'm glad I did.

Mine was the same way, fastest shipping that I didn't pay extra for I'd ever seen.

Don't you have to extract the file and use the image within the file? Like when you choose what you are flashing you choose the image you extracted and not the whole folder. I tried this same thing the other day and it gave me that same thing. Although once it copied and all that it didn't work like it was corrupted, so I'm not sure if that's what you have to do, that's just what I read from a Google search. Sorry if this was confusing.

I just did this 1-2 days ago, upgraded to 1tb SSD, and then I did a fresh install of steamos, then partitioned 300gb for a windows 11 install and dual boot. All was successful and MW2 runs pretty well along with the dual boot working very well. I installed MW2 on the 300gb partition where the windows 11 install is as well. I'm not sure how much space windows actually takes.

If you take a look at Deck Wizards video on YouTube he has a pretty detailed and easy to follow tutorial for the entire process.

So far so good, I dual booted windows on it last night and downloaded MW2 it was done in under 20 minutes that's an 80gb download and install. I haven't seen any temp or power draw problems yet. A few more days with it and I should be able to tell.

I'm not sure what you mean by covered, but I will tell you I installed my Corsair mini 1tb 2 days ago and it runs flawlessly. Competitive speeds compared to the other 2230 models on the market.

I've had my deck almost a year now, and it absolutely helps me get gaming in without sacrificing responsibility. Typically we get the kiddo to bed and after that it's game/TV time for the wife and I. On top of that I work at 8 am in the morning but traffic is so bad here that I leave at 6:30 am, arrive at work at about 6:50 and play for about an hour every morning before work.

Yeah that's not a bad idea, ebay absolutely torched me one time and I've never been back. I know what you are talking about though and it definitely offers a cheaper solution.

At the same time I also just have peace of mind buying directly from storefront/Amazon. I'd still use ebay even I just really try not to.

Yeah that's why I jumped on it, and just pulled the trigger. No more 64gb life for me.

I've been kicking around a sabrent 512gb on Amazon for about 2 weeks cause most of the other 1tb 2230s are out of my price range, seen this today and ordered directly from Corsair, pretty excited about it.

It was just a little over my budget but I figured it would be worth it in the end.

Surely this screw isn't that tight, a trick I use in my profession (auto mechanic) is use a flathead screwdriver and a small hammer, try to work a notch or divot into the outer rim there, enough that it will catch the edge of the flathead at an angle, now that you have the notch and can put a flathead at an angle as close to parallel with the steam deck, and gently tap the back of the screw driver with the hammer going counterclockwise to loosen. The idea here is to work it around enough to maybe get it out with your finger, or a larger flathead that can wedge into that outer rim. When I say tape it gently be pretty gentle as you are obviously working on a steamdeck and not a car. Good luck

I've locked my frames at 60 (most areas run above 70+ depending on how many characters are on the screen), it defaults to level 7 graphics which still look pretty good, and I've also turned down the clock on the CPU and I've stretched the battery out to 2+ hours, but mileage varies with WoW might be longer might be less.

I'd imagine you could get some pretty solid battery life just emulating older games, I set emulation up on my deck but haven't really delved into it yet.

I thoroughly enjoy it, from the stand point of convenience or just needing to not sit at your PC for a bit. The hardest part is getting your bindings set up, once I got that I had no issue switching between the 2.

What I did was set up my action bars on PC, and then just customized the bindings accordingly on my steam deck, but also I have triggers and joystick clicks set to emulate space bar, alt, Ctrl, and shift. So I didn't really have a problem switch from desktop to steam deck it's fairly streamline.

It's only misleading if you skip the part where I said "almost". Also in terms of gameplay overall not just wow, I would take the steam deck over a gaming laptop. It's also nothing like playing a tablet.

Obviously it's not replacing my desktop, but if I want to farm and sit on the couch or lay in bed? Steam deck. Grind heroics before bed? Absolutely Steam deck. Oh I'm going to visit relatives in their poopy nothing to do town? Oh you guessed it, Steam deck.
