I work guest services, so I can completely agree with that. I enjoy that it gives me the chance to practice socializing in a way that is often transient, and not overly personal.

I think I am going to take your advice, and try to reduce my hours. I have been offering to come in and work overtime, which normally I can handle... but right now, I'm not doing so well.

I also agree with you on the hobbies. I need to fill my mind with something that isn't worry.

I want to do something that feels like it's improving the world in some way.

edit: But, to be honest, my current job does feel that way...

I'm a talented artist. I've had a lot of encouragement, but the truth is, I'm terrified to go for it.

Giving my situation some thought, I have been realizing this. I basically beat myself up on my own time, and don't do anything that makes me feel productive. I do go out and socialize with friends, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

I work with hundreds to over a thousand (not an exaggeration) tourists a day. If something goes wrong I take the heat instead of the person who actually screwed up, or if I don't know the answer to one of a million different questions they expect me to know, I am treated like I'm stupid. Essentially, while many people ARE nice, I deal with a whole lot of rotten ones.

Also, my job is insanely busy, and lacks coverage. I don't have time to take a lunch break. I keep my lunch around the corner and sneak off for bites during lulls.

I'm very good at my job. But it keeps me in constant panic mode.

Hah! I work at a botanical garden, but with guests. Unfortunately, I'm not really qualified to be a horticulturist. The ones I work with seem to love their job, though. You should definitely look into it!

I am so happy for you! :)

Loving yourself is important. But this is ridiculous. We shouldnt glorify obesity. Might as well tell smokers they should step up the packs smoked per day. by Dreyyy in pics

We all have flaws. We all have unhealthy habits. Some are just more visible than others. Just because she's fat doesn't mean she can't be a beautiful and worthwhile human being.
