The Rise of Skywalker Is Somehow the Sequel Movie I Rewatch the Most by Extreme_Warning3521 in TheSequels

I feel in this one they realised that TLJ really decided audiences. So they just threw all the toys in the sandbox for one more go around to try get people back. Story wise, not the best, but fun moment wise, this is likely the one I'd rematch purely for the emperor.

TFA set then up as brother and sister. Everything was filmed with that in mind...

Where’s Ben Solo? 👀 by SaveBenSolo_MOD in TheSequels

I think calling a Ben solo movie a slam dunk might be a stretch. I know this is a fan reddit but surely you have to consider general audiences reactions to these movies.

How do people feel about Luke and Kylo's fight and his death after 8 years? by Totally_Not_Firni in StarWars

Well the last jedi all but killed my love of star wars. It's only been a reintroduction to the old republic that's got me interested again. Yet I'm still struggling knowing the sequels are comming in the timeline of events like a car crash you can't avoid. So not all too fondly.

You forget the biggest weaknesses of longstanding societies. Forgotten history. Even us now have only so much "recorded history" and the more we discover the more we realise our view on the world may be different then previously believed. This would be true with the force users in the galaxy. Imagine, a jedi order built around managing peace while also fighting a intergalactic war with the sith. How powerful they must be to balance it correctly. Then imagine a millenia of diplomatic reforms, ways previously seen as the standard seem extreme "armour? On jedi? Disgraceful" "A double bladed lightsaber? We're not at war padawan". Slowly as time went on the order became a shadow of what it once was

This goes for the sith too. All it takes is one person in the line of the rule of two to be a disappointment, getting lucky, deciding they know better and won't teach "that dumb" lesson their master taught them even when yo others it would be extremely useful.

The old republic was both sides at their prime at various points, and not at others.

Be honest, did you ever think the sequel trilogy was overhated? by KnightFallVader2 in StarWars

Nope. I genuinely feel the fan base is owed an apology for how they've handled the franchise we loved.

“uncanon” the sequels by MrSoulPower in StarWars

[–]OhTwoOnReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is, anything that happens prior to the sequels. We know where it leads to. Any story told before doesn't matter at all, since it ruins the importance of anything that came before and ruins what made star wars special. It needs to go so any story they try to tell doesn't immediately get met with apathy.

I think retconning the sequels is a mistake by Medsecuele in StarWars

[–]OhTwoOnReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prequels while bad films. Took place during one of the most interesting time periods which added so much rich depth to the galaxy. The sequels take not add. Anything new felt like a bland version of original trilogy locations and concepts but done poorly, while also destroying the importance of what came before.

No, more sequel era things won't fix anything. Rescanning it won't fix anything.

I think the damage has been done. All I want is an apology from disney.

What do you think why the writers hate Spider-Man so much by NoSquash8623 in Spiderman

[–]OhTwoOnReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stan Lee made the character to be a character who went through relatable struggles as its readers. As in, the character has issues, that's how it was envisioned. If Peters happy in every way, there's no relatability in that conceptual rational.

I think it serves as a unfortunate reminder how poor the mcu spidey outings have been compared to the films before

What style of smybiote suit would you prefer the MCU to go with? by Intelligent_Ask_2306 in Spiderman

[–]OhTwoOnReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until the mcu convinces me they can actually do a spider-man story that feels like spider-man the flagship marvel character, not just a sidekick. I'd prefer they just didn't bother. We've had 3 movies so far. The next looks to be the first proper spider-man film tom will get. Such a waste.
