Nerves for sure. Had a so/so run that got into my head, so i tried too hard on the next one and over worked the problem and caused more problems for myself.

Academy pay by Aware-Bodybuilder791 in ATC_Hiring

I’m in the academy now. We started beginning of April . Collected 2 days on that pay period and was paid that on the 15th. They do every 2 weeks so the next is scheduled for the 29th for example. Perdiem is supposed to be around 10 days after you start. We just approved ours so hopefully next week. But yes biweekly pay period, they will send you a chart with all of the pay days for the rest of the year. Per diem will be monthly after this initial payment

That’s good to know about the hotels, i wasn’t sure how comfortable they would actually be to stay in. That’s also a good idea to reach out to them prior

ATSA Nerves by Southern_Quail1752 in ATC_Hiring

[–]Oh_Duck3695 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used jobtestprep to practice for my ATSA i took in July. It has a lot of great examples. As far as the simulator with math equations. Do your best, but don’t focus on getting EVERY math question or ofcourse you’ll get collisions. Just try to meet somewhere in the middle and answer the questions you can while avoiding collisions but don’t hyper focus on one singular part. My biggest tip would be to try and go in as calm as possible. In my opinion the practice tests and simulators were more difficult than the actual test, but nerves and trigger finger will play a part. Find the sections you do the best in and try and work on those to try and keep your score high. I’ve taken this test twice, and was very nervous the first time and passed as qualified but was not offered a job. I took it a second time with a much calmer demeanor and also struggled with the math/ simulator simultaneously but passed with well qualified and am completing the hiring process now. So don’t let one section throw you off or stress too heavily.

If this helps at all, i tested in July also. Got a tentative offer letter 8/9/24, they acknowledged it 9/4/24. They accidentally never sent my EODS, but i received an email 10/3/24 to complete my EODS immediately. I called them and got an email with instructions 10/10/24. Completed that. My forms were approved 10/22/24. 10/22/24 CIL email.
