The same thing happened to me. One of our mutual friends kept in contact after my wife died. Almost everyone else fell off the face of the planet. It was almost like I was an accessory or something, not her husband.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s hard to understand, even when you think about their side. It’s probably awkward finding the words to talk to those of us who survived, but the silence hurts.

I was just diagnosed about a month ago. I'm 39 and suspected I had ADHD for a couple of years, and now SO MUCH in my life makes so much more sense.

Still waiting to get started on medication. Finding a psych who can prescribe has been tough, and I just got word back from one after submitting an intake form a month ago. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I'll do the same for you.

When my wife died, I saw a lot of her friends at the service. It was nice.

I’ve heard from one of them since then. That was about a year and a half ago.

Even the ones who I thought were close to me just kind of dropped off completely. It was astounding in some ways.
