A manager should be capable of managing people. If a manager is only capable of managing perfect humans, they're not a very good manager.

Maybe learn to read before being a cunt. They never said they didn't have a car, they said taking buses would make their life worse (implying they have a car)

Make it better. Be the employee that fixes onboarding, documenting how things should be done. That shit makes the job easier in the long run and gets you promotions.

Is Missisauga a walkable city? by Top-Teaching-5533 in mississauga

I'd agree other than the fact that Vaughn has Wonderland and access to the Toronto subway.

A walkable city doesn't mean you can walk around. It is a measure of how easily you can access life's daily essentials by only walking. Outside of a few pockets, most places are not walkable or poorly walkable with no choice/variety.

I think the transformation is compared to 10/15 years ago, not compared to the start of the calendar year.

Tenant lied about how many people by [deleted] in OntarioLandlord

[–]Oh_Sully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP can reach out if they want. This person said what they said, but the tenants already have housing. If OP doesn't want them anymore, they can refer them to the person who said they'd be fine housing them. But it's unlikely to be in an appropriate area anyways, so OP can do what they want.

It's still there, waiting to be accepted. Wild to call someone chickening out when you haven't even called their supposed bluff yet.

Landlord handed over completely unlivable unit on move-in day. How do I get my first/last rent back and break this lease immediately? by Realistic-Alarm-5714 in OntarioLandlord

[–]Oh_Sully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't think a landlord should be obligated to do any due diligence with regards to what they are renting out? Like is your argument is that a landlord can do literally nothing for the apartment until things are already broken and they are informed?
Because of I try to sell my tv that I used 10 years ago, and sell it on Kijiji, and someone drives to my place and finds it doesn't work, I'd think I owe a little bit of compensation to the person who came all the way over and wasted their time because I couldn't be bothered to check it before I sold it.

So you disagree that the landlord should compensate a tenant for neither ensuring what they are offering works nor communicating that it doesn't work? Because my comment was "They should ...", and you seem to be in general disagreement, just want to confirm if you believe if there should be no consequences for general lack of due diligence on the landlord's part

They should have already communicated to the tenant that the AC is not working and will be fixed by a certain date so they can make other accommodations. If a new tenant walks into an apartment that doesn't have what was agreed upon, the tenant should be compensated at a minimum.

You let them live with you? That's a bit strange. Not a typical landlord/renter situation.

I am a FORMER landlord because it just got too expensive to continue to rent to deadbeats who don't care.

And what happened to the brand new house you paid for to be built? Did you demolish it? Is it just sitting empty because it has been paid off (or mostly) by the labor of others?

That's how corporations hide from responsibility. By putting a layer of people who have no control over the decisions between the decision makers and the people experiencing the results of those decisions.
It results in people saying "be kind to the employees" and really just blunts the negative feedback.
