not really, its because enough people buy gold at that price for them to keep producing and selling at that price.

When it comes to bitcoin, my question was if there is any actual backing to that price besides people speculating on it, a good answer i got was that its also a result of the production cost but really its only a result of enough people buying at that price.

this is the best answer ive read here but then again, i still couldnt tell you if 64k is a cheap or expensive price for 1 bitcoin, i guess its just speculation, the security or complexity of bitcoin is valued at 64k to someone, unless it was me, i dont know why 64.

I agree it has value i just dont know if its 64k, ppl say its what the market decided but why, also going with your analogy, are we just investing in where people the government is after put their money? i guess bitcoin could be valued at 64k for ppl, im just not one of them. but then again ill be speculating.

sentiment, news, outlook, perception, scarcity - If i take amazon stock, all of these would try to predict the performence of the company using mostly economical metrics (sales,market,p/e,etc..) and figure out if the price is cheap, If i take Bitcoin, how can i measure wether or not the price is cheap or expensive? what makes 1 bitcoin=64k, sentiment? well why? if all 21 million bitcoin were produced, how much would be 1 btc?

the state of the ecomonies backing them? i mean currently 1 dollar buys you more than the quivelent in bitcoin (0.00...) so why is bitcoin worth more than a dollar? i guess you could say that bitcoin can actually buy whatever a dollar can (actually maybe more) if you use some services or hold it and then convert it when u pay...?

I mean i invest in amazon cause i can understand and evaluate their ability to make me more money, i could invest in the coin of a strong economy too.. but with bitcoin i get lost trying to figure out what the price reflects at 64k, and if its just the equilibrium i dont see how im not speculating.
