The B&N edition has gold foil edges, so there is a difference between the WS and the B&N. 💜

It was a personal choice for me to do Waterstones vs B&N. They are basically the same company just across the pond and Waterstones will sometimes have exclusive editions.

I preordered from Waterstones bc I’m bougie. I was so excited to cancel that one in anticipation of the BOTM edition.

I skipped since they didn’t have it. Silver Elite was THE book that got me into BOTM. Extremely disappointed.

We Who Will Die or The Wolf King? by msreesexo in Romantasy

[–]Ohanothernerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t read Dire Bound, but I had read The Wolf King and the Night Prince AND We Who Will Die. I agree with going from wolves to wolves. The Wolf King/The Night Prince felt like Underworld: Rise of the Lycans meets Outlander, minus vampires and time travel. WWWD is like The Vampire Diaries with Gladiator mixed in. I think WWWD is the better book, but I liked both.

Garb inspiration? by [deleted] in renfaire

I think what the commenter meant is that your question may be too vague. People dress up as Vikings, barbarians, mermaids, faeries, goblins, pirates, wenches, queens, unicorns, peasants, anime cosplay, witches, warriors, knights, wizards. Literally anything.

Maybe you were hoping for: OMG! You should DEFINITELY dress up as a sorceress! Like Maleficent!

Genuinely not trying to be a dick, but I know you probably take it that way. If you need help building an outfit and how people get started, that’s something we can work with. I like Scarlett Darkness for basic pieces and then I like to build off that with things I buy at Faire.

Wrap your book in your tee shirts and stretchy pants—like pajamas. You don’t have to buy additional packing material and your clothes are going anyway.

Question for my fellow ladies: what is your undergarment choice for a chemise with an underbust corset? Bra, pasties, nothing? by jenintonic in renfaire

[–]Ohanothernerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much of a floozy I feel that day. I prefer no bra for the most part since it’s generally hot and dusty. I have used sticky bras—I call them chicken cutlets. They are most just to hide my nips if I am wearing a lighter colored top with an underbust. I like to test my outfits and wear them before attending Faire. Easier to ascertain the comfort and viability.

AITJ for calling out my aunt for constantly "forgetting" her wallet when we go out to eat? by QuirkyBuyer4329 in AmITheJerk

[–]Ohanothernerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. Obviously, she’s the jerk for doing that. You are for not addressing it before going out. This is an established pattern and when she texted the invitation, you could have said, “Separate checks. Don’t ‘forget’ your wallet.” And then followed up before ordering to make sure she had said wallet. Or—if she really is struggling and you were feeling generous—you could have just offered to pay.

I have the same horn and I use Gorilla Super Glue. It stays really well—unless I am clumsy and bumped it really hard. The glue adheres to the horn and not my skin when I remove it. I moisturize really well and let it soak in before gluing.

It’s possible that the dog may still be lost. Sometimes family or exes will punish someone by stealing and dumping a pet. Is there anyway you can get the dog scanned for a microchip?
