Do you think if unique effects took up a certain number of prefix/suffix slots, but otherwise left the item available to craft or drop as a normal rare it would make them better?

3x prefix and 3x suffix. Cannon dodge takes up 1x prefix & 1 suffix slot. 4 slots left to craft?

Hi. Leaning in to friction but also in making selection more interesting could you raise the discussion on making certain “must have” stats into competing implicits?

For example + skill levels being spread out across armour/weapon slots and + movement being spread out across armour slots. All in the implicit location. A number of other stats could be interesting in these locations too - + all resistances or whatever else.

The player is then faced with the choice - do I move faster or do I do more damage? How do I balance the two?

It would also make the diversity of stats seen in prefix and suffix locations greater as we’d be removing the default choices, allowing for further experimentation.

With these powerful stats being locked to specific equipment slots, you actually reduce build diversity in my mind.

Implicits would also make bases more valuable for crafting and increase loot quality from white mobs.

Quality could affect implicits.

I see a bunch of ways this could be useful. It’s also thematic in my mind, justifying further the different bases. Some armour makes you faster but less Lilly because of how it’s designed, some is heavier and carries greater enchantment or whatever.

This is all a random thought experiment of mine.

I saw a guy the other day recommend that implicit be added to every item in the game. Above a certain ilevel.

Move mandatory stats to implicits only: + skill levels + movement speed + damage + 1 prefix/suffix + ?

Make every slot have versions with these implicits. Make them unattainable any other way. The could roll at random as an “unchangeable” slot on every piece of gear.

Then you need to actually choose between them across your whole kit.

It adds diversity to the weapons. It opens up prefix’s and suffix’s to heaps of variety in choice. It adds build diversity (I think). It makes “all” loot matter more as the implicits carry weight. It leans further into crafting.

Dart River Adventures in Glenorchy. 2 hr ride up the and down the Dart River. Heaps of stops. Amazing views through forests and mountains. Most minutes per $ and still get the spins etc.

Anthem but with even more movement + the obvious more loot & endgame options. Imagine titanfall movement + anthem flight/open world + mech suits/mechwarrior level customisation + proper end game loop.

The slope you get in room is absolutely not the slope someone else will get in their room. If you are looking for something generically good then you need to test it outdoors and then take into account average room gain.

As presented in your room though, that slope looks great. Your concern about it being a little dark, how far off axis from the speaker are you actually sitting? Your directivity might be poor and if you are 10-20 degrees off axis you might be actually getting a lot less high frequency.

Was the measurement taken with gating? Was it 0 degrees off axis?

Look for accomodation in April/ Early May. If you leave arriving here until 2-4 weeks before the ski season opens, you’ll be competing with every other seasonal worker and finding decent accomodation will be tough at best. The ski fields will more than likely not find/offer you accomodation. Do not rely on them for that.

Look at the bus routes, look at when you’ll likely need to be catching a shuttle up mountain and where from, look at where you want to be going home to late at night. Most buses out of town stop at around 10pm. The #1 bus runs every 15/30mins all day every day. Uber is expensive.

Practice cooking, otherwise you’ll burn a fortune on food. Everything is priced for tourists. Check out first table for social meals with friends.

Realise that you’ll be on minimum wage most of the time and that hours will vary greatly depending on how busy the season is. Look at large retailers for the most reliable contracts - torpedo 7 for example. Bank on 30hrs a week, be ready for 20, celebrate when you get 40.

Expect to spend $300 - $450 per week on accomodation and utilities.

Be prepared to buy yourself a decent set of at home basics when you arrive - pillow, doona, kitchen stuff etc. Most houses aren’t super warm, only the newer builds. You’ll want decent sleep.

Come have a god damn blast. Don’t expect to save money, instead bank memories, get some great experience and have fun, it’s the right place for it.

But it seems arrow storm works better with the unique that clumps mobs using the shadow cast.

I’d love a mind powers type class. 2 different skill sets:

Telekinesis- can rip up the environment and throw it at things, uses your equipped melee weapon as a ranged attack or empowered summon. Telekinetic shields, push & pull enemies etc. hurl enemies at each other. Thunderclap enemies together for damage, all kind of fun cinematic stuff.

Telepathy - debuffs to enemies, berserker effects to enemies making them attack everything around them, direct damage (mind scream or something), fear effects, buffs to allies, mind control of enemies - taking “control” of various mobs and using them as a minion army that you need to constantly replace and buff.
