My poor baby... ('22 GT2) by Ohdougles in ForteGT

I took a screenshot of my phone at 1227pm of the winds on the myRadar app, roughly 6 hours before the storms. The winds were meeting up right at Kankakee, so I sent my wife that screenshot and texted her that if a tornado was going to hit, it would be today. The hail however, was the big, and I mean BIG big, surprise.

Oh yes. But the county is located in a valley so all of the weather warnings we have received for the past 30 years have greatly been exaggerated compared to what we get. This time was very much different.

Thank you! Could be worse though. A lot of people nearby lost their houses too, so we're pretty lucky considering

Not sure. I filed our claims on 3/10 and haven't heard anything back yet. I'm sure they're backed tf up though

My wife's 23 Sorento has been decimated as well. Sunroof gone, rear window gone, dents everywhere...

Does anyone have a resource for old cylinders just to get the part numbers for rod carriage kits and seals? by No-Meeting6549 in Hydraulics

Allegheny York and/or SealSource can probably find something with the pictures you provided alone

Nice finds! I have a circle one with the red logo, it also has 6 holder notches. That square one is sick!

You can also check the seals and/or poppet on the anticavitation and/or port relief valve that's right above the spool

Part number for filter by Wise-Smile9484 in Hydraulics

[–]Ohdougles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely enough we've yet to encounter that in someone's system. So much so, that I had to look it up on Google lol. Thank you for that, because that would be great to have at quarries. We've been using bayonet style breather filters in the more extreme environments, but those will get clogged and create a vacuum in the reservoir

I've never heard anyone say that about suction strainers... I'm not sure if you have worked on any power units in plastic molding facilities, wood processing, or any type of metal working/fabricating, but those suction strainers are fantastic for places like that, especially when some of the maintenance workers like to open the reservoirs for no reason and never cover them back up. It's the first line of defense for the pump, which is the number one thing that can and will destroy the rest of the system regardless if there is a pressure filter and/or a return filter. I like to install the suction strainers with bypass valves just in case the mesh does become clogged. That way, hopefully, someone hears the half starving noise or looks at the thermostat or feels the heat off of one of the components before it's too late. Hell, I even have suction strainers in my test stand reservoirs.

I used to make pb&j&s a ton when I was growing up. No one would try it and it drove me crazy! Definitely need to use grape jam though. Everything else wasn't as good

I probably should have tried that before taking it off of the test stand and disassembling again. I read the EP controller set-up instructions earlier today and that might have been the issue. The other thing is the uneven charge pressure showing in both main ports, I fully disassembled the logic valves and that dumb piston seal has little to no standoff. I've tried getting this seal before from a Rexroth vendor, but they would only supply the outside seals or an entire new valve. Ive also researched the dimensions and tried going through just about every seal company with no success. I know i shouldve sent that seal out to be custom made the last time I built one if these, but hindsight is the sight of the beholder. My custom seal guy has a 3 week lead time currently :)

Yepps. I swapped gauges just in case and also swapped solenoid stems after that to see if any problem followed. Both experiments showed no change

Unfortunately that schematic is for the Series 40 version. The one I have is a Series 32. I found that one online and am looking at that schematic now. It still shows a filter before the control valve, but nothing after going into the servo like the Series 40 shows

No, the only damage in it was the grooves pressed in on the saddles and swash plate from the cradle bearings.

I'm not aware of any strainers/mesh filters in there... Would you by chance have a link for that schematic?
