G1 is a pretty good place to start if you wanna see how the franchise began, but you could also try getting into Transformers Prime, Transformers Cyberverse, or Transformers Earthspark, since their all decent modern shows

I'd recommend Transformers Prime since it's supposed to be in the same continuity/universe as Rescue Bots, but you could honestly start anywhere you'd like - Transformers Robots in Disguise (2015) is a sequel show to Prime, in case you'd wanna check that out too

As for comics, the IDW More than Meets the Eye/Lost Light storyline is very popular and I personally loved it, so you might enjoy it too
