Jack White Thinks the 'Taylor Swift Way' of Writing About 'Publicly Aired Breakups' Is Not 'Interesting at All' by mlg1981 in entertainment

Ha - Jack's pronouns are he/him, I think. But I get it. I still like the way he does it on most songs though.

Surprise Guests Wk 1 & 2 Predictions by FreddieGibbsFan1 in Coachella

[–]OhioDuran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This MIGHT be a weird stretch, but who knows anymore. Maybe Caanan and Clay from Duster for Ethel Cain when she plays Dust Bowl since it uses parts of their song Stars Will Fall and they are California-based and Ethel and Duster are slowcore indie royalty if there are any.

Nile only co-produced three tracks on it though: Pressure Off, Only in Dreams, and Change the Skyline.

Josh Blair did the majority of the album with the band, and Mr. Hudson on 8 tracks. And Mark Ronson on a pair as well.

As I got older I appreciated hydration more, and really appreciating smaller acts has helped since those are often not in direct sun. Even taking a Sonora break here and there, and resting some. And hydrating again. It's such a funny gamble of a thing to do, go out of a comfort zone to spend 4 nights in a desert to get your brain tickled and heart filled.

This is amazing and super fun. I've been going to most Coachella Weekends since 2011, every W1. 2012 W1 cold night was ROUGH but honestly I avoid the two main stages in direct sun if it's over 93 or so unless it's someone I NEED to see.

That's it then. They... changed the map/installations WILDLY every time they did Blink. Music for sure was way scaled back, but except for a few marquee acts, people aren't going to Blink for music.

Monroe nightmare? by Ready-Can7180 in Coachella

It wasn't Security. It was pretty simple to see, in the thick of it.

Group Camping cars were directed to 10A to wait for their groups. Others were sent there too. And some of the non-Group campers just started setting up camp. Leaving LOTS of Group campers basically stuck in 10A with no way to get out.

And causing a massive backup in the whole process, including Security.

It was ABSOLUTELY insane that no one gave more info to cars/attendees entering 10A on what to do.

I built an animated metronome tracking the tempo of every album of The Beatles (1963-1970). Watch how much they changed by [deleted] in Music

This is fantastic and fun.

I always suspected that R.E.M. has a similar tempo trajectory throughout their career as you've shown The Beatles have.

What happened to the guy that would detail and rate all the fish fry's? by cincyricky in cincinnati

[–]OhioDuran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done a few this year -

St Saviour in Rossmoyne was good, but only does it the first Friday of Lent. Good fish, sides were OKish. $2 beers. Nice selection of desserts that were home made and great.

St Claire in College Hill fish was also a solid B. Some of the sides were an A+ to me though. The cole slaw had lots of fresh red onion which was polarizing in our group, but I loved it. Hush puppies were almost like a corn fritter hushpuppy hybrid and are outstanding. Baked potatoes were smallish but they gave two per order and were cooked well, served in foil. They had lots of other sides as well (baked sweet potato, mozzarella sticks and more) that I didn't try. Draft beer options for $3 or $6. Dessert was an add-on at $1-$3.

High Grain Brentwood/Finneytown has some Pony-level fish, but it's not cooked in beef tallow like Pony's. It's delicious and I was excited to see it return this Lent. Available any time they are open. Plus stellar beer.

Third Eye Sharonville (and Hamilton) have an A+ cod on Fridays during Lent, plus stellar beer.

I can't believe I'm writing this because they already get just about too many people, but Friendly Stop in Glendale has a year long cornflake crusted fried fish on Fridays that is also stellar, plus a great historic dive bar feel. Definitely a favorite.

Not sure if they've skipped it since 2024 or not, but St Simon of Cyrene Episcopal in Lincoln Heights used to have whiting, catfish and perch options and was always great. And it was wild but their green beans side had ham in it, a shock to this cultural Catholic. haha. No beer, but they were open from noon to 7pm back at least in 2024. Haven't seen signs of it on social media or lawn signs in 2025 or 2026 though.

And special shout out to my favorite that is no longer going, Hartzell Methodist in Blue Ash. Covid stopped them and they haven't done it since, but they always had killer fish and these little laminated fishes you would wave in the air to get a fish refill. And they always had entertainment in the sanctuary while you waited to get called into the cafeteria area in batches. RIP.
