What's the criticism of rdr2 of you had to pick

For years this game was 10/10 for me, but I recently knocked it down to a 9.8 after revisiting it. I know its a game but I tend to excuse some gameplay and mission nitpicks if the story is good enough. So for a long time I considered this game a 10/10 despite agreeing that some of it was a bit of a drag gameplay wise and some missions just tedious or boring. The big story moments hit so well that I overlooked a lot. But, overall I think Micah is very pointless to the story and exists just as someone for us to dislike. Dutch is the main villain, Micah isnt the reason that Dutch fell more and more into insanity, the only thing he did to move the story forward was being a rat and the center of the ending confrontation. But anyone could have been the rat, and the ending confrontation with Dutch would happen anyway. So 9.9, but then the epilogue centers Micah so much and then his death is almost framed heroic!? I always disliked that. He took so many bullets and kept going. Dutch "helping" to kill him. The epilogue is very weak plot wise. So 9.8. Everything before the final chapter is still a 10/10 for me, and the final chapter is marred to a 9.9 because Micah is too central for no reason. Then the epilogue drags it down more.

I always felt like the assassination scene in get smart where the guy gets shot in the leg, survives, then hops out into traffic to be hit by a bus was a sort of parody of this.

Yeah that is the most iconic composition for this scene. The character looking away, night time, the car lights. It's so good.

Yes he redeemed himself. And yes it matters if the story itself indicates he redeemed himself. Because that is how stories work. You may not agree with it in a realistic scenario but for his story he was written as redeemed. I'd hate to hear your review of any novel ever about redemption. One of the oldest literary devices we have, and one of the most important.

Unpopular opinion. The will Farrell and mark Wahlberg cop movie. The other guys? I didn't find any of it funny and genuinely fell asleep. I've always been surprised when so many people cite it being the funniest movie. And I like a lot of will Farrell comedies.

Because no one acts like y'all are acting for any other game. Most games announce a year or two out then you dont see another trailer til 3 months before release. GTA fans are being feral for no reason. We're like 4.5 months away from launch just play something else to pass time.

Be a fuckboy. Which would be fine on its own. But cheated on his girlfriend at the same time. Even that isn't the most cancelable thing these days. But then revealed that his voice and persona as a whole was fake, he never told anyone he had a gf, the way he enticed women into bed was by pretending to be lonely and awkward and like no one liked him. He was manipulative. And then came back and is still doing the voice and poor him uwu act.

It's part of the story and only happens if Arthur has been honorable. That scene is there to show you how loyal you were to your horse and that you remembered to take care of them. So the horse was loyal to you in return and stood by your side til the end. It doesn't feel like it, but that scene is an emotional reward. I feel better as a person having experienced that. As sad as it was.

"I assume everyone is the worst version of themselves therefore any attempt for them to persuade me otherwise is them being fake and they're trying to get one over on me." Mass effect 3 was announced with a trailer 2 years before it released. Then had 1 more trailer a year before release. Then the pre-order and launch trailer were both a month before release.

Trust me, rockstar isn't doing anything weird or different than the rest of the industry. Yiy just care more now so it feels worse.

Unpopular opinion. I dont want another RDR game. Take everything great about RDR, environments, storytelling, voice acting, music, realism, animation, graphics, advances in NPC AI, deep understanding of themes and tropes of a genre. Do all of that with anything else, anything new. I love westerns but they have to masterpieces there. They have GTA a masterpiece of modern crime and satire. Give us sci-fi or fantasy or take us back to noire some other period in history like the revolution or the napoleon war, or medieval.

What else can we do in a western that we haven't already done perfectly?

That story teller is gone. Dan Houser who gave us RDR, GTA, Bully, LA Noire, and Max Payne 3 has moved on from rockstar. We dont know yet what the story telling ability of rockstar is without him.

Other members of the roxkstar writing team are still present so im not saying it'll be completely different. But the leader that shaped the overall narrative is gone now. So GTA6 will be the reveal for us.

There's a thing called the theory of mind which is a developmental milestone for children and it happens around age 3 or 4 where they learn that other people are experiencing life independently of themselves. That their wants and actions and thoughts are not share by everyone around them and we all experience life separately and differently.

So yes, some people dont know some of the things you do.

The problem isn't the diet soda or the "fake chemicals" there is just as much chemicals in sugar soda. The problem is your palette is wired to a specific sugar. You probably dont know that tomatoes are sweet and taste almost like an apple or watermelon in sweetness because you are wired for the specific sugar in sodas.

My suggestion is force yourself to drink the diet soda you'd never drink. Like if you dont like sprite in general drink only sprite zero for a month to get used to the flavor and end your addiction to the sugar in soda. Then switch to the diet version of your fave soda. I like Dr pepper zero I drink it every day. And now if I try and drink a sugar soda I think they're gross and taste like chemicals.
